haha jk, looks like you are getting deposits in your coolant from something.....
Hahaha.. I talked to the tech that worked on my car. Since he had everything apart to replace the piston rings.. he said it's usually sediment from the lines and things.. they usually try to get it all out, but I'm taking it down and having it cleaned out.
I'll tell ya what though... car runs GREAT after having the piston rings replaced. I also had a new N80 and BSH PCV block off installed. ..

I hope not either, and I really doubt it, but if I need to do a head gasket, I might just save up an extra $2k and throw in some rods/pistons/studs while I'm in there
How many miles are you getting before your oil is low now after the rings?

Either I am lucky or I don't get it. I read thread after thread about burning oil, but mine doesnt burn shit....(knock on wood)

Let us know if after you clean it you get the same deposits.

No there is no oil change light. You made it sound like the low oil light has to come on at 5k miles.
oh, no sorry. I have thrown in different oils to see how they like our hot turbo's and junky rings. Most go past 6k, but a couple I have only made just past 5k. (I know it isnt great on the pump, or my cam's, but I'll deal with that)

I literally just got it back so I haven't had the low oil light yet. I'll keep everyone posted.

Mine consumes a lot less oil with Shell Rotella compared to the twice as expensive Motul 8100 5w40, and whatever junk the Hyundai dealer threw in when i bought it, not that it really uses up much... i check often enough to not rely on a dummy light... however I have heard Rotella is very thick at extreme temps probably not an issue for anyone who doesn't live in the arctic.
(it's rating is comparable to a 15w40 oil says right on the bottle) So I blend in some 0w30 German Castrol.
This honestly seem to be the 'perfect' blend for my car.
Has the car had G12 in it its whole life? Could be some one goofed and ran the green or orange stuff in there and it got all gunked up and now its leaving a residue.
It's had G12 in it as long as its life... As far as I know. It definitely has since August when I purchased it.
The tech who worked on the car flushed it and re-added new G12 coolant when he was finishing up the whole piston ring fiasco.
The "crud" in the tank is a light tan almost foamy looking stuff.
The tech said when he resurfaces the engine block during the process that some of that crap falls in the bores for the coolant so they have to blow that put and it's not always 100% successful. Apparently it's also common that when you drain and fill the coolant some of that sediment moves.

I run it in my bike (revs to 15500) and it's great, and in my truck (14Quarts) and when it gets below zero, it is a lot of work for the starter to turn it over. It is a lot of engine though.
I have two audis and neither burns a drop of oil. Neener neener!
I wouldn't be too concerned with the sediment myself. It doesn't seem to terrible. Just keep an eye on the makeup and color of the coolant for a then next couple of thousand miles and you should be able to tell if its something worth losing sleep over.

It seems it was the 08's that were definitely impacted for some reason. It's the only year the techs I'm friends with can definitely say that there is a recognized issue. I'm just glad I got mine taken care of. I wish I took some photos of my valves... They looked pretty cruddy. We're going to clean them up next.
