    quality third party warranty

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
so ive been reading countless threads on engine failure...

i tried to search but only came up with more freaky stories of catastrophic b6/7 s4 failures...

who has a good third party warranty on their car?

who has actually dealt with one that will cover the cam tensioners or scored cylinder walls...

    sounds like a good investment...

I have a feeling I should've bought one of these, as I just paid to replace the starter, clutch switch, ignition switch and I'm about to replace the wiper linkage.

Please forward any info on warranties to me please!

I remember when I had my B5 S4 a few years ago this one guy had Continental. He was getting worked done while other companies were denying the same claims(replacing turbos) for other people. Not sure if they're still good, but might want to look into them.

I'm interested to as I'm currently looking for a car. I thought zurich could only be bought as an extension from an existing warranty?

I have a Platinum Fidelity Warranty that I bought with my car, happy with it so far - it is transferable for a $40 fee to another owner and it has pretty much paid for itself for me so far.

only claim that they denied was the paint peeling on my valve covers. Things that have been approved so far:
    Rear view mirror replaced
    Drivers window regulator
    Glove box door
    Valve cover gaskets
(This is over a period of 10 months of ownership)

Whatever you decide with, go through ^^ guy. He offers the same warranty that you would pay over 50% more for at an Audi Dealership. He works for a dealership in MA. Completely legit.

When I got an extended warranty for my B7 S4, right as the manufacturer warranty was about to run out, Audi was charging me $3700 for the full meal deal warranty, and Troy offered the same one for $2222.

I was at 21,000 miles and got the 4/48,000 Audi Platinum Pure Protection. Best you can get. Covers everything except the clutch.

This is a warranty through Fidelity Warranty Services.....exactly the same warranty an Audi dealership would sell you.

    Hope this helps."

so it sounds like fidelity is the best...

with tensioners likely over 100k and cylinders plausible with any 04 s4 it just seems like a good idea..

their basic package seems to cover all of the main issues expect air conditioning...

Fidelity no longer exists though... They were taken over by Carchex.

I had a Fidelity warranty for my S55 about a year ago. They were great to deal with.

When I got my S4 a week ago I tried to go through Fidelity again. Carchex now answers their phone number and they sold me a warranty through EFG (Enterprise Financial Group).

I paid $4378 for their best warranty 48/50k miles. I'm hoping they are as easy to deal with as Fidelity but there's no way of knowing until I need them.

In any case I'm not too worried as I've heard nothing but good things about Carchex and how they stand behind any warranty they sell you.

In response to a post above - I bought my Fidelity warranty thru the dealer - my car had only 17K on it at the time so the cost for 3yr./36K full coverage was $1999 - which I negotiated down to, originally wanted $2250. (The paperwork had the Audi logo on it)

Anyone else have any luck with this? I think fidelity will only sell to you if you are in the 4 year 50k mile warranty.

Yeah that's correct. I spoke to Fidelity rep months ago and also to Troy after seeing this thread and pretty much the same outcome - no go unless your Audi is within 4year/50kmi. Some of the B7s should be good to go though.

I bought my car brand new and have Geico insurance. They offer a service similar to factory extended warranty and have read awesome reviews about this. But you have to have purchased the car new. It will only last until 7yrs/100,000 Miles.

i am 2 years into my 3 year / 36,000 mile "GOLD" coverage plan through WYNN.

they've paid out nearly 13 grand in parts/labor/fluids. it cost me 1700. pretty solid investment!

What if the car has been modified, prior to warranty purchase?

What if the car will be modified after warranty purchase?

I don't like the phrase "void of warranty due to modifications" or something of that nature.

from my experience with 3rd party companies, it is case by case. a rep from the company will come and inspect your car prior to any work being done. in one instance, i had an aftermarket exhaust that was preventing access to a warranty'd part. i had to pay the labor to have my exhaust dropped while the insurance company covered the rest.
