So I want to get rid of the A4 and 2.0T badge on my 2008 but I'm afraid after I remove them there will be an outline left on my white car? Anyone have a solution to this? I was thinking about getting the car steamed to try and remove as much aging as possible.

plenty easy do a search and you'll find tons of DIY's. You just need some fishing line and a heat gun to get it off, use the fishing line like you would to floss, and FLOSS THOSE BADGES off. And just use some bug off or tar remover stuff you can buy at autozone to remove the residue left behind and get your polish out to polish the spots up. Easy 10min job, by heat gun I mean blow dryer, go buy one if you dont have a GF and just return it to the store when your done LOL>

Yep, you can even use dental floss... and you can get some fine scratch polish to remove the "ghost marks" - it looks so much better :)

Probably won't even need to use a polish. I debadged a ton of old cars and clay bar can take old residue off with no problem.

Goo gone thats what i was talking about. Why not polish? why not wash the whole car and polish those spots especially HAHA... Or maybe I just detail my car WAY TO MUCH

Is there an outlet in the trunk we could use or do we need an extension cord?

I understand how to remove it but I'm not talking about the glue residue left over. I'm talking about the outline left around where the badge used to be. My car is Ibis and the previous owner didn't clean it as much as I do so I feel like there will be an outline left over. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

i know what youre saying. i debadged my audi rings on the trunk and once i got all the glue off, there was still a "ghost" audi logo. couldnt get it off..even tried using a buffer lightly and it didnt take it out completely. from what ive heard, the clear coat will wear down everywhere beside the badge..and when you take it off, the clear coat is raised ever so slightly compared to the rest of the car and thats what causes the ghost. i have black paint though, so its much more noticeable on mine compared to white

The ghost outlines will go away in time. I actually used rubbing alcohol and it seemed to get the ghosting gone in a few minutes. Worth a try if you have some sitting around. I wouldn't use the 99% stuff though, just incase
