    Need help with a code

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have this code stored in the ecu and it wont go away. even after clearing it its still there. check engine light comes on after driving around 100 miles.
The dv has been replaced with the new piston type. I also have a catch can installed. Iv tested the system for boost leaks. Iv tried pulling the battery
but did not work. Anybody else have this issue?

Maybe you should check your N249 valve.

Well, to be fair, you never said if you'd checked the N249...

When codes don't go away it usually means they are still active issues...

    Nope. It isn't.

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...the-N249-Valve

Edit, the above link is for a 1.8t, so its sorta irrelevant, but illustrated my point. There is no N249 as far as I know on the 2.0t. The function of the N249 was to allow the ECU to control the DV directly. The DV on the 2.0t is controlled directly by the ECU now (pretty sure here) so the function of the n249 valve is pretty much eliminated. You sure its not the N75 valve acting up? Or that the new DV isn't malfunctioning?

How did you test for boost leaks? If your DV was replaced and the fault came back are you sure it was installed properly? It only goes in 1 way.

they changed the valve code names between 1.8t's and 2.0t's which makes it confusing as hell. went to the dealer and he told me the n249 valve is #13 on the picture. but looks like even the dealer cant figure out the code names.

#13 is the N75 valve, the Wastegate Frequency Control Valve. Number 23 is the Divertor Valve. Weird, I've never seen the DV referred to as the N249 though. In the 1.8t we have a seperate N249 valve which is connected to the DV, but is a seperate part and serves to control the DV.

I'm guessing the dealer is talkign about replacing the N75, which actually makes some sense given the problem you are experiencing.

On the 2.0T the N249 is incorporated into the DV. It is a single unit (DV+N249).
