    ECS Clear Markers Turn Yellow?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I ordered the clear markers for the front, have brilliant black. While doing a search to see if there are any tricks to popping these out I've noticed several comments about them turning yellow after a period of time. I suspect I should expect the same but was wondering if I should create a poll to find out how many have ordered versus how many have turned yellow. Lets see how the response is and we'll go from there.

If there are enuf...yeah they turned yellow responses I was thinking of spraying them with something like krylon's uv resistant clear coat before installing them. Anyone tried this stuff or recommend something else.

    Appreciate any feedback I receive.

Here is a link to one comment...there were more but dont' have time to dig them up right now.

Yep, they don't last long. Mine definitely yellowed some over the last 3 months. Its slight but I think its made worse against the light silver car. I absolutely still prefer them over the factory reflectors. I'm planning on deleting/frenching in all the reflectors eventually any way.

I bought clear ones for my mkiv (which was black as well) from ECS and they looked good as new after 8 years so I was surprised to read these comments. I still have the original orange in my garage collecting dust (mkiv totaled in october so definitely no use). Anyway, I really like the clear look on black so I'll be swapping them out when they arrive. I'll probably spray them with a couple of coats of krylon and hope that helps them last a few years. I'll keep you posted, as soon as I have the new ones and their prep'd I'll be ready drop off the orange ones.

you could always just get some gloss shadowline to wrap them in if the turn yellow. I had the clear ones uncovered for about 6 months, I wrapped them in november, turned out great

One years for mine and they have a little yellowish color, but not that much!!

Compared to the orange OEM one, they look much better!!

ive heard some bad things too but i mean, for $10 you really cant complain. and if you do(not you specifically but all the other numbnuts in here that have complained), youre a complete moron. its $10. i spend that on lunch, a 1/6 tank of gas, 2 maitais, a bottle of shampoo, a 3pack of socks, etc....point is ITS ONLY $10!

    /rant

    lol sorry

edit: i am of course refering to the ECS markers, which were on sale for $10 last time i looked(pretty sure its til they run out).

    Excellent feedback.

I was thinking of keeping my orange around to throw back in just in case these things turn ugly in a couple of months, but I'll just pass them on to bnish.

Sounds like they'll show a little yellow in about a year of So Cal sunlight. Then I'll try color matching them and if I get bored of that just get another set and go through the motions again.

    Thanks for all the help.

I was thinking of using this...I am open to suggestions if you have experience with something more appropriate.
