I'm so happy now, just noticed that my paint is peeling on both sides in the rear. I had some rust bubbles underneath these spots... Oh and it's still peeling off.
I think that their warranty for rust will not cover this as it's not perforated? I'll call my dealer anyway.
Ouch. FWIW, I'm seeing similar on the cargo door on my '08 Avant. No rust, as mine has been in California since being first sold. Repaint was my first assumption, although the Carfax report showed nothing of the sort. Yours, near as I can tell from a coupla' pics, looks like corrosion damage. I'd certainly ping the dealer, and ask the service manager to escalate with Audi if needed. Good luck.

For you few avant fellas on here, I found rust behind the rear spoiler break light and after searching around it seems to be very common. Problem is with the break light itself is held in by metal clips and without anything between that and the metal, it scrapes off the paint and will cause corrosion.
2 of the 3 locations where theese clips are seated had corrosion on mine, and no luck getting it repainted over here under "good will".

I thought this only happened to early Dodge Neons...
Happened all over the hood fenders and just above the windshield on my black 2000 Golf, just so happens it was a Quebec car too (bought it like that for dirt cheap)
I think it's from living near the St Lawrence... lol, I saw tons of VAG cars with peeling paint there, every third MK4 I saw had some kind of peeling/flaking paint.
Good luck with the warranty part, I do believe I tried my best to get it resolved or at least an explanation and it came down to the metal being fine and solid, no perforation, they wouldn't do shit.
I stripped it, primed with a galvanized steel primer (yellow! it was interesting at mid point) and got some flat black down on the hood. Held up pretty good till i sold it.
It goes under their rust warranty. So it's 12 years..
I am going to seriously look into this since I am getting a little rust. Or drive closer to trucks to get more so I get more rust. lol I doubt it will work
