So I'm looking to drop about $2500 strictly on performance upgrades. I'm looking for suggestions from the more experienced modders of the 1.8t longi.

My thoughts so far are at a minimum: GTRS Eliminator turbo / or K04
    high flow injectors
    Exhaust manifold
high flow cat / bolt on cat delete
    FMIC
    Stage 3 Revo upgrade

Everything else already installed on the car is currently in my sig. Any suggestions?

With an Eliminator setup you'd be really stretching it with $2500. It's doable if you kind find used parts. When you consider that a new GTRS is $1500 and software is $600 you are left with $400 for everything else. I say you save a bit longer so that you can do things right. When I pieced together my GTRS setup I bought some new and some used items and I think I invested around $3000-3500.

I believe your $2500 can only get you to K04 or Frankenturbo

unless you settle for a used GTRS setup

Just go frankenturbo for like 1600, get a good fmic, and some other supporting mods.

You wouldn't need an exhaust manifold with an eliminator setup...that's kind of the whole point.

But still, A4Dit is right, you need more $$$

I'd get a good FMIC, a high-flow cat, injectors and Revo stage 2 if I were you. That should be within your budget

Thanks for the response A4Dit, I could stretch as far as $3500, I was just looking to see if I was in the correct ballpark for the items needed, and if anyone has done a similar setup.

On a side note, I have been seeing some GTRS turbos that function fine with a stock manifold, that could cut the cost if the case is true.

**EDIT: couple of responses as I was typing this lol a lot of questions already answerd, thanks guys ;)

I would recommend the log manifold or porting the stock manifold. It's going to free up power that would otherwise be restricted by the stock mani as well as lower egt's.

I'd recommend a good fmic before an exhaust manifold. Stick with the stock manifold and keep your iat's down w/ the fmic, unless you get turned on by trying to install the most tight fitting exhaust manifold nuts with a home made wrench to only be rewarded with bloody knuckles and a cracked manifold a few thousand, maybe hundred, miles later...

    /run on sentence.

    I'd do:

GTRS snail (new used would be ideal for cost)
    Software
    Injectors
FMIC (pick up a used one if you can find one)
+ gaskets, oil, coolant, all that jazz...

Are you still on a stock clutch setup? Going with an elim kit would be nice but if you need to fork out another grand because your clutch is slipping, you'll blow right through your 2.5-3.5 budget. (Ask me how I know... go on)

    true.

Just drive with the stock clutch until it can no longer hold the additional power. I went for quite a while on a stock clutch w/ an elim. The only reason I replaced it was because my motor was out and it was the perfect opportunity to.

I've logged 15-20k miles on my elim with a stock clutch. It can be done but my situation may be rare.

I've put 12k on my stock clutch with an eliminator (85k total miiles.) The key is not launching your car.

$2.5-3.5k is definitely reasonable for an eliminator setup. If you can be patient and wait for deals in the classified's you could easily find yourself in the lower end of that price range.

Hmm, didn't think about the clutch issue with the added power, however theres only just over 40k miles on the car, and i baby the clutch. So here's hoping it lasts a decent while haha.

What kind of AWHP can be expected out of a GTRS elim?

I think 250 whp for gtrs. Anyone want a GT3071r with log manifold, internal 5 bolt with vband downpipe and has 2000 miles?

Yeah thats one of the reasons why I thought gtrs was not worth it and got a 3071r. Might as well go full setup instead of eliminator since its not that much more.

3071r will get you at least 300, I think I'm right around there. It faster then my old Evo 8 with 300, but I'm looking to upgrade to 5857.

I've seen reports of 300+, as well as there own claims that AWE Tunings GT28r setup will net you 290, and it's quite cheap as a matter of fact for the whole kit. Includes exhaust manifold and GIAC software.
