Once I get my JHM tune, I was going to go get my car dyno'd at boostcreep in Longmont. I do not like MAC autosport one bit, so I am not willing to strap another one of my cars to their dyno....

which dyno are you thinking about?
I would be down for a Boost Creep dyno run if there is a group buy.

I had not planned on any shop yet, I figured I would see how many people have interested and then call several shops. I will definitely call boostcreep once this list grows a bit more.
Talked to BoostCreep about pricing. He said he does not do discount pricing, however, there is something better.
Dyno runs with no tune cost $85 for 3 pulls. BUT we can rent the dyno for one day from 9am to 5pm for $700. This would be worth it if we could get more than 9 people to be interested.
The most important thing he told me about was to make sure the belly pan is off, we will have to find a way to strap each car down, I think most have tow hooks in the back so its only a matter of finding a spot to latch down the front.
The owner said he has done as much as 30 subarus in a day, granted that subarus are easier to latch down because they have tow hooks on both ends, but if we could get more people involved in this it would bring down costs to a really nice price.
heres the breakdown.
Rent $700
5 people = should just do separate dyno purchases
10 people = $70
15 people = $47
20 people = $35
I doubt we would be able to get more than 20 in one day, but still it could be a great opportunity to meet some of the local guys around here. BoostCreep is in longmont for those interested.
Hopefully we can get the number of people up, and we can schedule a date to rent this dyno.
When were you planning on doing this? Money's kind of tight at the moment and I need a new MAF to kill my throttle cut problem.
As of right now I have no date in mind, might be a while, but since anything under 8 people isn't worth renting the dyno for a day, right now it would be better to just go for the single dyno use. I'll keep updating the list, and once we get around 10 people we can start to plan out a day
i definitely wanna do this!! i am 100% in, even if we only have 10 people that's $15 saved...
15 people is definitely the way to go IMHO, almost half off... and I think that will give us all enough time to do a couple pulls, if anyone wants to go at it a couple more times at the end of the day they'll have time.
i think for $50 a lot of people would want to dyno their cars. people can invite their non-AZ friends as well, i feel like we can easily come up with 15 people!
if we split a day, don't forget even if we have only 10 people, we still have the same amount of time. not sure how much extra dyno runs are worth to everyone but my point is if we split a day then you're paying per hour basically. so 10 people gets more time than 15 people, still at the same rate
I would prefer you guys use carz, lol. Just because then I would have accurate comparisons to myself! I can have 3zero3 ask if they would be interested in a group session, if you guys would like.
Also, are you saying that if you rent the dyno for the day, that you yourself are responsible for strapping down your own vehicles? If so, that seems awful sketch. Have you witnessed a dyno before? They spend at least like 20 min just strapping the car down. I would not want to be responsible for that at all.

In all honesty, I like the closeness of Boostcreep, as it's in the middle for most parties. While Carz is a drive for the FOCO, and Boulder people. But for people looking for "puff your chest out" numbers the dyno dynamics dyno Harvey uses may hurt your feelings. Though I do prefer the printouts Carz provides vs the ones I get from BC (they are just more detailed and easier to read).
we have tow hooks in the front too! just need to get the hook out of the trunk, i definitely have one in my jack kit we can just take turns using it.
are they just going to let us run it ourselves? i'd feel a lot safer if they handled the actual dyno... I'm with JR, i'd rather pay full price for 3 runs and have the peace of mind that they're actually running the dyno
Uhhhhhhh, there is NO WAY Harvey is letting people run the dyno or hooking the cars up themselves. Too much liability...... You need to be trained to run a dyno. And what happens if you shoot off the dyno through his wall?!? He's not taking the chance people will go in there and tear up his shop or equipment................. Come on folks!
And JR, WATCH YOUR TONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and drive up in March and help me with my installs)
and i'm not worried about making any big numbers. just want to have a baseline to go off of, and to compare to other stage 1/2/2+ 2.0Ts
Hurry up and get that turbo installed!

don't worry I've watched atleast 5 dyno videos on youtube, I know how the essentials of how to dyno.
but seriously he is taking care of it, strapping for sure, and I would assume also the dyno'ing, i forgot to ask if he does that.
Basically its $700 to rent it which means we get access to the dyno for one day, but for liability reasons im sure he does all the work.
The belly pan things was because he said sometimes he has no where to strap the car in the front so it helps if the belly pan is off to find a spot, but i totally forgot that we have a tow hook in the trunk that we can attach to the front! Good call Arjun!
Every time I have been to a dyno, the strap it down in every corner. The front tow hook would do nothing. It would just end up pulling crooked, and wouldn't work. They get under the car, run tow straps over the frame (or whatever) for each corner.
On another note, Carz performance would love to help out on this. Minimum 8 people, maximum 12 people, $50 each for just hp/tq. Must be a Saturday, and they need 3-4 weeks notice so they have the full day available for you. Honestly, a pretty great deal. Do it! I can set it up for you if that's the route you want to go.
I would be interested in either one. If we only need 8 for carz then that sounds better, since they would both be $50 8 people vs 15 people at boostcreep. Let me know what the majority prefers
Boost creep is longmont. 14116 valley drive
Carz performance is in denver, wadsworth and colfax
i'm down for whatever's cheaper... seems liek if we don't haev a big group Carz would be better. I say we all pitch in and get this going because i'm hoping to haev my BT setup done in a month or two maximum haha, and definitely want a baseline dyno beforehand!
Lmk! Lucas that runs Carz is a pretty cool guy, and the dudes that ran Dave's and my car were professional. 3zero3 contacted Carz to get this pricing for me, but left him my info as the mediator for you guys. Like I said though, he will need at least 3 weeks notice to allow for a full day, Saturdays only.
If we want the most people possible, someone post up on VWortex, I'd do it, but normally I get little intrest in the threads I start...................... I think we could get 15-20 people pretty easy that way. And like I said, location wise it's in the middle for all parties.
I've had nothing but good experiences with MAC Autosport. I've dynoed there several times, had them tune my race car etc. A dyno day there is $50-60 for 3 pulls per car.
