The 2.8 is 90% back together its on jack stands because Ben has the wheels to bring to work to get new tires. all we need still is fluids. The plans are to strip entirely for proper paint job. Shaved engine bay and wire tuck. Rolled and slightly pulled fenders. Shaved side marker lights and shaved lower door moldings. S4 side skirts. S4 front bumper with rs4 mod. Respray same color, melange metallic with matte black roof and mirrors. Then roll cage with full interior left in. Then I need a spare 1.8t to throw in while I either build a 2.0 stroker or a Vrt to throw in.

yeah, i guess for me if i was putting in this much effort (as you previously had with fixing her up n the headliner and stuff...) i'd wanna go lambo-killer VR6T haha. quattro+VR6t = unbelievably sick lol!

Very true Haha we will see. I wanna go vr but need to see what I can afford and how long it would be before id have it ready to go

BOOM! do it!! plus you can sell your current 1.8T... for at least $150 i assume haha!
If he has one, I want it either way. Current 1.8 isn't going anywhere. Will get built at some point if not now for another project.

you have to pull it tho, I can help. I'll call him up this week and see
i can pull it no problem. id rather do that so i can get all the accessories with it as well! i get paid friday! ill run it N/A for a while if i had to. i can always boost it later. just need to run standalone and piggie back the stock ecu so i can run stock gauges. may need some help with standalone if anyone has input. the engine is going to be a ways down the road. i need more money for that!

do u know user nefkntym? he seems to b extremely handy around an engine bay... his build thread is seriously impressive! i think he is trying to get rid of this VR6T. he built it into his b6 avant, started it once, and decided to change to a 2.7TT i'm jealous haha!

thanks man the hard parts are done for the most part just have a few more things to remove before i start welding shit up and body work. the the real hard part will start, re routing fuel lines, ac lines, extending parts of my wiring harness and re routing all the wires. even more work to come ill keep this updated

damn yeah take tons of pictures that's pretty cool. are you planning on moving all the fluids and battery and shit to the trunk, since you have it all stripped out anyway?

Very impressive man. Let me know if you need help at anytime. I can provide moral support and Audizine stickers. Reminds me I need to do my turbo soon too.
Side note - do you have the stock exhaust, and if yes, please refresh my memory if it will fit a 2001. i NEED one bad.
dude that is amazing, seriously haha i can't wait for you to be done! any pics of how he mounted the fluids in the back? also battery is pretty heavy, put that in the trunk too right (i iz noob rememburr)?
eventually when i have a second car, i want to do this!! if you can afford the downtime it seems so worth it. that engine bay is unbelievably gorgeous, and i bet its wicked easy to hose it down and keep it clean!
He is not running a coolant tank at all. Not sure how he pulls it off but everything else is up under that cover where the battery goes and only the battery is getting moved to the trunk. As far as down time... Ya I'm goona have a lot of that Haha I'm guessing 6 months minimum.
Richard, come by sometime. Well drink some beers and u can help me plan some stuff out. Also I need some better pics if ud be willing :) I'm in Denver now tho. No longer in foco

ah, that makes a lot more sense. I was thinking to get longer hoses for everything would be a hugeee PITA to stretch to the trunk, not to mention making your trunk semi unusuable haha (i fold down one of the two back seats all the time to fit snowboards/skis)
6 months of downtime is chill, with everything you're doing... BT and everything...
I can't wait to see it coming along! how long do you think the actual relocation of everything to the battery area and the battery going to the trunk is going to take? like a few days' worth of work? since everything is already stripped i bet its not too bad... seems so worth it to me that's one hell of an engine bay
The actual relocation of the abs module will be the worst. I need to make my own brake lines and custom bend them to there existing locations. The power steering tank shouldn't be too bad just need some longer hoses and build a bracket to hold it in place. Not sure what I'm doing with coolant tank yet ill have to figure that out as I go. The wiring harness is going to be a bitch. Im picking up another harness to cut up and splice on mine to extend the wires. With how busy I am with school and work I'm probably looking at a couple weeks for all the just working on it nights and Sundays. When are we going stage 3 on urs!?

and first thing is going to be welding up the holes in the firewall and such, then paint, then re routing everything accordingly. i still need to find someone to custom make me AC lines as well to run in side the wheel well out of sight.
Richard, i do have my stock exhaust and i might possibly sell it. why do u need it? im 90% sure it would fit we can take a look when u come visit ;) just just so u know, its beat to shit from being slammed

that sounds intense, i didn't think about the hard brake lines... i was imagining having SS braided lines for everything, that way they're all flexible? Idk hahaha
and as for my GTX... talking to RAI this week to finalize the deal... i am SO BEYOND EXCITED right now!!! ordering all the parts by the end of this week hopefully, but i won't get a chance to talk to ray until wednesday unfortunately as i'm really busy early week...
waiting for a check in the mail to make my life easier... i want to definitely have a grand waiting for incidentals before i go at the install, ya know... since i can't afford much downtime on my car (none, really, but i will lie and call in sick or do whatever i need to haha. that just can't go on for very long, especially since i just recovered from some crazy illness. i made up the hours i missed but still looks bad ya know).
ya down time is never fun. but the brake lines will be staying hard and the fuel will be ss.

cool cool sounds interesting i can't wait to see it come through... i can't stop staring at that clean ass engine bay lol!
so you gonna help on my project or what? looks like i might be at martin's house, around the corner from yours haha... or in broomfield at cheetah's, but i think you guys (you, martin, mike k.) would be more willing to help if i was in denver lol. and after looking at that DIY instructions i think with some expertise and the right tools we could get it all done in a single day assuming everything goes down how it should (lets be honest, that never happens lol)

cool beans, thanks a bunch!! mike seems as excited as me haha! i think with the right amount of preparation (making sure we have all the tools required, know what we're doing, and PB blasting mebe?) we should be able to knock it out in a day. i'm stoked!!!! i'm slightly worried b/c my car is an east coaster... rust aplenty i'm sure
