So here's the deal, I've been having trouble with my turn signal acting weird.. The normal clicking noise you hear has since turned mute or even short electrical noises, but the turn signals still work so whatever.. I disconnected the negative terminal on the battery and started taking off the steering wheel, air bag, clock spring, turn signal, cruise control, and the wiper stalks, I tried to clean/fix the faulty turn signal stalk with no luck, so I go ahead and put everything back together in the same order it was taken off and now I get this weird rubbing noise near the steering wheel.. It's like the back of the steering wheel is rubbing against something but I cant find it.. It is also hard to steer and the steering wheel doesn't return to straight after making a turn, you physically have to turn the wheel back straight with some force mind you.. I know this sounds dumb and should be pretty straight forward, which it was, but now this has me stumped I couldn't really pinpoint where it was coming from or what was hanging it up.. There has to be someone out there that has had this happen considering how many people change their steering wheels in these cars...

Wow I feel like an idiot Here is what fixed my problem. After I installed the new turn signal I didn't realize you had to slide the board it was attached to as far back on the steering column you could get it.. After I did that and tightened down this screw to hold it in place, I am good to go now.. Just for future reference if you need to replace a turn signal, cruise or wiper stalk be sure to slide the board they are all attached as far back on the steering column as you can and you wont have this problem.. Glad it was something simple and I didn't have to delve any deeper into the steering column!!!
Here is a picture to help understand what I was looking at under there..

That video didn't help at all, but glad you fixed it. If I were you I'd spent a few bucks on a turn signal relay, could be the culprit instead of the merry-go-round.
I couldn't find a turn signal relay anywhere searching here and the web.. Did you mean a turn signal stalk? I just ordered one today since what I did didn't fix it.. It is definitely in the stalk because once I lightly smack the column where it is it will click for a second before it quits again... There isn't anything to those things BTW.. On the video I was just trying to give a general idea as to the sound and how much rubbing there truly was...Weird nonetheless lol
