    What have you tried? Sonax?

I have found a claybar will get most of the embedded stuff off. Just be sure to NEVER EVER USE THAT CLAYBAR ON YOUR PAINT.

You should try Sonax FE. It is by far the best rim cleaner that I have ever used.....period! Hit up detailers domain....they usually have some good deals for AZ members.

I use P21S Wheel Gel to clean, and occasionally a clay bar to remove some of the specks. Then I use Klasse AIO which does an excellent job as a paint cleaner, and at removing the remaining specks and stains.
