Does the dealership have a new flash that erases or overpowers tunes??

    Hi,
So I am or was running Stage 2 Revo tune and I went in for the Ignition Coil recall (07 2.0 A3). I have the Select switch and I turned car back to stock map before going in for the service. After the service, I re-loaded the stage 2 map and was good for about 3 engine on-off cycles, boosting to 22-24 psi. 4th engine start, I was still boosting stage 2 levels then all of a sudden, it reverted to stock map, boosting around 15 or so psi. I tried re-loading the software again and again, and the same results would happen each time. I can hit boost about 30 os so times at stage 2 levels then it reverts back to stock map it seems.

Anyone else experience this and can advice on what to do?

    Thanks!

Thats really weird. But any reflash of your ECM by the dealer will most likely erase your tune. The coil campaign however, does not include a flash. Did the dealer do anything else?
Gonna push this little K03 until it can take no more

No--just the ignition coil recall. REVO said it might be due to low voltage, but the lowest I have seen while driving is 13.8v and before starting the car, it is at the least 12v. I don't think it is a boost leak also or anything mechanical either because I am not getting any CELs or codes, nor is driveability compromised in any way. And when I reload the stage 2 map, it boosts fine for quite a while and then it seems to just turn off during regular driving. I am now thinking I bought the car with trial software and am just turning it on each time I use the Select switch. I'll be going to a REVO dealer soon...or Unitronic..

I had a coil recall on my A3 2006 but they did not mess with the comp. I have APR stage II but I only get 17 psi boost . 22 to 24 sounds kind of hight 15 to 17 sounds better for a stage II. But any way do you have the original diverter valve? They are very weak specially with the upgrade. Also you may check for boost leaks and spark plugs calibration I use 28 on my plugs. Make sure all clapms are tight and no leaks.

    Hope this help

Yeah, still happening. Cleaned my MAF and installed Forge DV. Car also has no leaks because it boosts fine after loading the stage II map. I'll boost at 22-24 pounds for an infinite amount of times . ...and then it just reverts to stock boost as if the stage II map was turned off. I'm really thinking the car was sold to me by the PO with trial software and all I'm doing is reactivating it each time I use the Select switch. Either that or the Select switch is faulty and not loading the map correctly (in the instructions of the switch it says to re-load the map 2 times if the switch was used on another car). Come to think of it, this only started happening after using the switch. I also have DEFI gauges so I can record boost levels, EGT, etc., so I know for sure my boost readings are legit.

In any event, I will be going to a REVO dealer in a couple of weeks to get this sorted out. Thanks for the advice so far gents.

It is not possible, afaik, to reset the trial tune. But this still sounds exactly what happened to me when my dv failed. I know you have a Forge, but they still fail. You should pull it, open it up, clean and oil it. The spring and piston inside can get caught not allowing movement, or hampering movement. This, or the tune.

First thing I'm thinking is that your DV has gone bad. If your dealer did something to your tune it would happen immediately...

If a ECU flash is performed by the dealership then yes, it will erase the tune.
