I'm a huge F1 fan and an Audizine member, so I thought I'd post up here and see who might be interested. I'm trying to set up a local spot to view the races. Ideally I'm thinking a cars and coffee type thing that turns into a spot to watch the race. I've talked to the local owner at Lusso pizza bar and grill here at Port Imperial and mentioned I wanted to start a viewing spot for the races. I have absolutely no ties to them, but they happen to be in walking distance to my apartment and they are on the proposed track so I thought it'd be a cool meet sight.
Not expecting anything crazy, but I thought it'd be cool to have a mellow spot to support F1, especially since they'll be racing here in NJ next June.
First race is March 18th in Australia.
Any takers?
Brendan

Formula1 racing, i've loved since a kid but I think Formula 1 belongs at racetracks OUTSIDE of the USA, all these American tracks suck and can't believe they will be right here in our home state of New Jersey... something isn't right about that. I'd be down to meet up though depending on the location.

When is it coming to NJ? I know its coming to Texas but first time I hear about NJ. Also the times that they race are very early in the morning here lots of times. Like races at 5 or 6am and I'm not sure that would work out.
June of 2013. Still a year and change away, but they've already started construction of the Pit Paddock down the street in front of the ferry terminal in Weehawken. Its actually going up quite quick. I know there's been a tremendous amount of negative press about F1 in the states, but as a fan I think its great to have a metro NYC location. It means almost anyone from Boston to DC could come see a race.
I'd like to have a set time to watch the race at Lusso. I'm a die hard, so I watch them live at 3am or whenever its on, but I think for a meet I told the owner a set time might work better. Then it doesn't inconvenience his business either.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Big F1 fan. I go to the Canadian Grand Prix every year. Drove the NJ "track" after it was announced, it's probably the best street circuit right after Monaco. Loved the elevation changes.

Thanks for the link. I've been looking for something like that for a while. I found a link on speed channel forums to a couple random place in Manhattan that have coverage. I'm heading up to Montreal as well this year. 3rd year in a row I can't wait. We have a block of seats in Grandstand 34 in the hairpin.

My family has a block of seats at the hairpin too, grandstand 15. It will be our 3rd year in a row too, but i dont think any race at montreal will ever beat last years race.

Just subscribed..have not had a chance to be at a live FI since 2000.......pics needed I see....Be right back...
A different twist on the FI Venue @ Monaco .....the following are from the week before the Monaco GP..These are from the historical GP anything from 1938 Bugatti's to 1950's Mercedes ( worth upwards of $ 25,000,000.00 ) to 1960's FI's .....In short the Monaco Grand Prix is actually a 3 week event since the Porsche series are also in town. However where else can you actually drive an FI circuit during race week.....They have to reopen the roads to the public after 6-7pm each day and close it up for the racing each morning as of 6am....
My apologies as for the not so great resolution on these photo's ...I unfortunately did not have a digital camera at the time these were taken....Eventually I will upload all 150-200 photo's to the I-Mac, improve their resoution and post them here....That should be a good winter project....
PS.... Living with my aunt and uncle I grew up watching the Monaco FI GP so if there is One GP I'm partial to, this is it....However going to the Canadian GP sounds like a great idea...
Only question is will the Avant be road ready for June....

I go to F1 Brazil every year since it is the last race of the season.
F1 on speed tv is usually at odd hours either 7 am or 2 am so not sure how to set up a viewing during those hours.

We've been doing the replay that Speed shows on Sunday afternoons. Malaysia worked out great since you didn't have to wait through the hour rain delay :-)

I think Lambo (vw) should get with Red Bull or Torro Rosso, it would be a great partnership all bull and no shit lol. Then put audi engine on it because in 2013 the f1 cars will be v6 turbos.
I have no idea why infiniti is a sponsor for Red Bull, they have no input in red bull's car.
Nope, didn't eve know about it to tell the truth. Unfortunately, I can't make it earlier in the day. I'm in the middle of wedding plans as well so my weekends are all over the place. lol.
