Talking Picked up a B6 A4. Looking to lower the car. But not Slam it.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I just picked up a B6 A4 90k miles.
Im looking into lowering the car to get rid of that wheel gap. I dont want to slam the car or anything outrageous. I do see the springs/ struts chart from the wiki page.
    But my question is
Which springs should I get with what struts
Ride comfort is #1 priority here. I do not care about performance since i have a weekend "high performance car"
Therefore, I am not even thinking about getting coilovers.
Coming from the evo world, i know that tein springs destroy evo struts. im not sure about how it is in the audi world.
is Neuspeed Race another good option?

Any comments/ suggestions would be appreciated.

that is quite perfect. still a comfortable ride with good handling? i hope to lower my car a touch in the future, but lousing up the comfy ride would be a concern.

I would say get upgraded struts 100%. I bought my car used with stock struts and with the lower Tein Springs. I love the drop, but I don't like anyone sitting in the rear due to how boucy it is.
Hahaha...dood! If the movie director wanted the car in the next fast and furious, I'd definitely submit the car! :-P - BoostBeeyatch

What no one has told you yet is that it rides like a 3/4 ton truck. I have the exact same combo on my car.

If comfort is key, you might look at Eibach Pro kit springs and a set of Konis.

How long have you had them? I was looking at them, but read a lot of bad reviews. How low of a drop did you do?

I have had them for about 4 months now and had no problems at all. They ride great and I am pretty low just flush with the tires.

What size wheels are you running? I only seen those coilovers on ebay for $349 +$100 shipping from Germany until I seen your post. They both have the same part # but look different, might be a generic pic on ebay.

I seen your link earlier I was comparing it to the one on ebay, since I seen other post on AZ about JOM, can you go any lower if you wanted to? I'm still stuck on stock 16"s for now. Trying to finish performance first but can't stand the ride height of the sport springs.

I'm just looking to be about 0.25-0.5 inch above tire on my little stock 16's until I save up for 18-19's.

Oh I see. well what size are your tires? If you have a big sidewall like a 45 then you can take out the helpers they come with in the back and that is as low as you can go but the front you can go lower. You might be like half an inch from the tire if you take out the helpers. if you want to go any lower I would get ST coilovers. they are also great I know 2 of my friends who have them and they are great. easily adjustable.

So they only work good with 17" + wheels, I'm not trying to spend a lot on coilovers, because I'm going to end up bagging it eventually.

ST Coilovers are supposed to be the ones to get on the cheap. They are made by KW Suspension and are essentially the same as the non adjustable KWs.

I have no personal experience with these, but I have been told they ride nice. My only experience has been with their fully adjustables which seemed very soft... But I have. I idea what setting they were on. Maybe someone who actually has them can vouch for the ride.

IIRC, ST Coils are something like $799 shipped. (if you plan on buying your parts new, you will end up spending close to that anyways)
