I'm not saying the Canadian guys are trying to take me for a ride, just that pricing is likely messed up from the supply base like cars were a few years back. Just looking to make sure I haven't missed anything up here. Would rather spend my $$ in Canada to be honest!
I'm going to play devil's advocate here:
If you toss $2150 into the calculator this is what you come up with:
(shipping will
probably be in the ~$60 range to Canadia))
Currency exchange [?] : 1.0000
Price [?] : CAD$ 2150.00
Shipping [?] : CAD$ 60.00 (guesstimate)
Duty [?] : CAD$ 129.00 (not made in the USA, so 6%. and usually, even if they
are made in the USA, they still screw things up and charge you

)
Tax (GST) [?] : CAD$ 140.34 (gonna need to pay this either way, though I am confused as to why only 6%, last I checked HST was 13%, $304.07)
Conversion [?] : CAD$ 55.25 (if you're paying with a credit card, they get you!)
Brokerage [?] : CAD$ 78.69 (UPS is awesome)
Disbursement [?] : CAD$ 8.29 (UPS again!)
Total: CAD$ 2621.57 with 6%GST (or $2785.30 is 13%HST)
You can find them on this side of the boarder for ~$2645CAD + ~$30 shipping + $347.75 HST = $3022.75
Also keep in mind if you're going to have a
professional shop install, they may ding you for bringing in your own parts that they could've ordered for you (cutting into shop profits)... ...and then they might not be nice and offer that one time 'height adjustment' for free, and ding you again
So how much have you really saved in the end?
vs
Calling your local favorite shop and having them there ready for install on Monday?
