Hey just thought i would introduce myself, my names Alex im 19 and living in So Cal. I just bought my first Audi a few days ago, I picked up a 2000 A4 1.8t, with like 130,000 miles on it. Its just plain jane stock from what i can tell.
So far i absolutely love it, except that learning to drive manual is a pain in the ass haha. I have a lot of ideas for it, but i think im going to start it off with the cc mod, new wheels/tires, tint, and a drop. Also im wondering what other mods/ upgrades i should look into.
Im looking for some advice on which wheels to get. I really like the Vmr V710's but i havent seen that many B5's with them. If anybody has any pictures that would be awesome, and any wheel recommendations would be great.
Im also thinking about getting some s4 bumpers and side skirts, for it sorry for the noob question but where would i get these from? Audi Dealership?
Here is a quick cell phone pic of my car.

Before you get too far into the exterior mods, get a boost gauge and make sure the system is boosting what it's supposed to and you have proper vacuum. Lots of people have a VDO boost gauge, including myself. However, I'd rather have a Podi boost gauge. There's many other options and threads on all of them, so if you ever get wondering just hit up the search button. As far as mounting it goes, you can mount just about anywhere, but the pillar mounts are discouraged because the air bags are there and having a gauge hit you in the face with that force could cause problems. Vents are popular options, and easy to do if you have a dremel tool.
As far as parts go, you can keep an eye out in the classifieds, or if you're specifically looking for S4 parts, hit up Brian at audiS4parts.com Great people, I and many others on this forum don't have one negative thing to say about them. Good luck!

I always like to tell people to look for deals on benz wheels. Usually they are much cheaper than VMR or anywhere else. And they have some simple designs that look great!

S4 parts are hard to find but the classifieds and junk yards can have good deals.

Since you have a turbo car, you will want to place in a boost gauge just to monitor your vehicle. This was the first mod I did to my vehicle. Next was window tint and subwoofers in trunk (comfort first). Then moved onto headlights (Valeo Ecode and 55w 5000k HID kit), and mods just kept coming from there (it gets expensive, so just be cautious).
And welcome to Audizine
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like the bitch
FS:Brand New K&N Air Filter RU-3700 (3" inlet, 5" base, 4" tall, 4 5/8" top), Brand New 3" Injen (Amsoil) Dry Filter Setup with Heat Shield, Brand New OEM 06A Oil Pump, Used Greddy Intercooler...throw me some offers

What does the boost gauge have to do with the turbo?
I have been looking into buying the ecodes, what is the difference between these and the stock lights?
And yes i have been warned about the dangers of my Audi becoming a money pit haha.

You've got some reading to do. Just get a boost gauge.
E-Codes have the sharper cut-off, and have the clear corners. They also have the ability to run a city light.
Okay, I will try to explain the function of a boost gauge, and it will not all be absolutely correct but you will get a general idea of why you should have one.
To start off with, you have a turbo in your car. It's a really small one, but you have one. For future reference it's called a K03. Upgrades include K04, GTRS, GT2871R, etc. that if you're interested in you should read about. Just type in the turbo that sounds cool in the search bar and you will find LOADS of info. on it. The boost gauge has a vacuum portion, and a positive boost portion, or a In/Hg for vacuum and PSI portion. PSI is positive boost and vacuum is anything while not making positive boost. The simplest style of a boost gauge will have power wires for lighting, and tubing line that will connect to a line on the intake manifold. This tubing will accurately (usually accurately) measure the vacuum and positive boost because that air passes through there.
Why is all that important? Well, there are specific vacuum and boost values that should be had. Normal vacuum is 18-23 In/Hg (someone correct me if I'm wrong.) And boost pressure depending on your year is either 7PSI or 11PSI (again, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.) If you are not meeting any of those values, you have a leak. On a turbo car, any leak is bad. Well, on any car any leak is bad, but more importantly a turbo car. If you blow your turbo, you will be sad, but the problem can be fixed.
To avoid blowing your turbo 1: wait until your car idles normally at 800 RPM's. If you start it and it is idling above that, wait until it drops. 2: Do NOT get into positive boost until your car's OIL is up to temp., not coolant. 3: If you have been into positive boost pressure and then arrive home right after, do NOT shut the car right off. The oil feeds lines will get clogged and that will blow your turbo. Let it idle for anywhere from 15 seconds to 1 minute. There are many topics on warming up and cooling down, and you may see some. That's just the procedure I follow.
Anyway, the moral is you need a boost gauge. If you don't know what kind, search VDO, Podi, ummm... and maybe someone else can name others.

I am a DIY thanks to AZ

So im buying my first thing for the A4. I decided to get a rs4 grill for it, will i need to buy anything else to like mount it with?
And im looking on ebay right now, but does anybody know a good website for these types of parts?
ecstuning.com (massive site with tons of aftermarket and OEM stuff, usually has the best prices from what I've seen)
fcpgroton.com (the have an awesome price on a full control arm set (look in the group buy forum, 205,230,250 shipped, each price represents different options) got my TB kit from there and couldn't be happier)
ringer-racing.com
mjautohaus.com
germanautoparts.com
awe-tuning.com
blauparts.com
jhmotorsports.com
Those are just a few, I'm sure there are plenty more but they'll get you started.
Ok so dafuq? I went and stopped by an Audi dealership today to pick up a touch up paint stick, and a replacement fog light bulb. While i was there i figured i would ask about a s4 bumper. They said they could order on and i would cost like $770. (Ripoff im gonna have to find one used)
Then the guy proceded to tell me that they dont make a retrofit kit for it, and it would not fit on my a4 because they were shaped differently.
I said I was pretty sure because I had a 2000, it should be a direct bolt on. And that only the prefacelift a4's have trouble with the fitment.
From everything i've read on here it should just be a direct bolt on right?
I have a 2000 with no problems fitting my s4 bumper. Picked it up used for $300.
Yeah thats what i thought, just kinda weird having the actual audi dealership tell me it wouldn't fit.. The guy looked at me like I was a retard when I said it was for my A4.
