Mine was weaksauce and tore whilst trying to transfer it to my new JHM linkage. I would feel silly forking over the 30-40 bucks it costs for that kit that comes with the boot, cup, and washer.

Can the shifter linkage dust boot be obtained separately from the "repair kit"

I know that you can purchase tie-rod and ball-joint dust boots alone at most parts stores. Maybe you will find one that will fit close enough.
