I know this has been beaten to death in the past, but I'm close to pulling the trigger on a Stage 3 kit from APR. That being said, I know there are offerings out there from other vendors, AWE Tuning being one of the others I've looked at. I'd like to hear some feedback from you guys before I make my decision. I shall put my flame suit on. Let's hear it!
2007 Audi A4 S-Line 2.0T FSI - APR Stage II+, APR HPFP, JHM 4:1 Center Differential, Carbonio (APR) intake, AWE Tuning FMIC, 034 Motorsport turbo inlet pipe, BSH catch can, OEM "D" DV, APR test pipe, Neuspeed exhaust, H&R coilovers, ECS Stage 4 BBK with Pagid pads, RS4 rear sway bar, Neuspeed short shift, Neuspeed snub mount, Defi MeterBF gauges with Defi-Link, Vag'd, de-badged, Huper Optik tint, RS4 grille, EU amber tails, 19" Hartmann RS4 replicas and H&R Trak+ wheel spacers
RAI GTX kits. DOOOO ETTTTT. http://www.raimotorsport.com/RAI-B7A...4_2.0t_gtx.htm or wait till their Precision kits are done, or wait till the EFR turbo's are avail again. But RAI would be my choice, in all honesty. And customer support from them rules!
Since you're almost pulling trigger to APR stage 3= approx $6000 JUST FOR PARTS, I would consider three choices: RAI K0R, RAI GTX, or custom.
Back when I stopped by RAI to get things done, Ray gave me a ride in the K0R. Definitely recommend them.
I'm going to try to keep this short and unbiased, but Stewy, really? No fucking way should you spend $4-6k on a weak ass APR gt28 kit. There's no point. You can and will get better power from a K0R, for much less cost. If you think APR's stage 3 is powerful, it's not. SalB7 dyno'd his kit at 283 whp. Weak. Go bigger if you really want power. A custom setup with custom tuning will cost you the same, if not less, and you will be more happy.
i say hold off, i think apr's kit is extremely over priced, and you can get better performing parts for the same money.....like everyone is saying, go RAI or just piece together a kit from ATP and call it a day...i know its convenient to have all the stuff you need right there, but the extra 1/2 it takes to research what you need could save you a grand or better yet, get you a better kit

I don't even have an audi....i just love me some 'zine

I couldn't agree more. I think that the stg3 apr kit for $6k is over priced. hell you could be another car for $6k. I think the appeal of a APR kit is that it works without the headaches of a custom kit but like everyone else said. R.A.I
x3 (or whatever number we are at) on RAI GTX kit! I am highly considering it for next fall, so I would like to get some feedback from someone that gives it a try. Otherwise, I will most likely be a guinea pig for the gtx or efr by then

2008 A4 2.0t Quattro - Unitronic Stage 1+, K&N Drop-in, KW V1s, VMR V701 19x8.5, RS4 Rear Sway, 034 Snub, Zimmermans & HPS, Podi Boost
Nothing else right now... saving up for GTX
I'm very happy with the APR Stage 3 kit. It's a BLAST.
Same here - I also paid for all the R&D and reliability because its my daily driver. Their tech support is awesome and I have had zero issues over the past 22 months since it was installed. Stage 3 Snow Meth kit next week...
2007 A4 2.0T-Q - DSB - Tip - APR Stage III+ - Snow Stage III Meth kit - Billy Boat Cat back - APR TP - APR HPFP - APR Intake - Forge DV - Koni FSD/Eibach - RS4 Rear Sway - 034 Intercooler hoses - Evolution Racewerks SMICs - Hawk Ceramic Pads - 034 Catch Can - Podi Electronic Boost Gauge - Sterns Control Arms - Pioneer AVIC Z-120 - Rieger front splitter - Votex rear valance - 19" Avant Garde M310's
Well, if anything, I'm definitely going to hold off until I can research this a little further. I agree, the APR kit is a lot of money for what you get. I'll look into the option from RAI. Thanks for the tips guys...keep 'em coming.

I'm talking Sasquatch :-) for that money vast could build you any turbo setup you want said and done.
But I'll get off my
Soap box hahahaha :-)
Yeah that's only if you take it to another shop to have everything installed, or else he's looking at 12-13k for parts and installation like I was quoted. And seeing as how he's in BC I think he'd be better off going to the shop that camc (sp?) went to.
Look into Comp Turbo. The B5/B6 platform are having good luck with it. You can custom make sizes between the 2871 and 3071. They are rebuildable and can reliable. Precision is the way of the past and would never recommend them to anyone. I would go EFR >Comp Turbo>GTX. If you want the best bang for your buck then go with Comp Turbo.
