Agreed. Just lock myself in that garage with my computer, camera and a bunch of beer. If I had all those toys at my disposal..... I'd never leave that place.

    The infinity looks good.

I failed at the garage door install. Ended up hiring a guy to come this week and take care of it.

Hopefull I get the rover back with the new bored 4.8L motor on friday. My mom will get the rover for the weekend while she watches my dogs and I fly to Breck for a few days of snowboarding.

Took me all day I posted my experiences on here a while back. Missed a 034 dyno day then.

I got my most recent Fedex home delivery in the afternoon replacement Spec stage 3+ clutch disc.
But I have also got them in the mid morning hours too.
Might depend on where u fall on the delivery route unless a specific delivery time was requested.

YES that thread was ridiculously high in quality pic content…

I hear ya... all that under the car fluid changes take time.
I took 2 spilt days to do my rear differential and front diff+tranny flush.
Also did the oil while I was draining stuff down there to get ready for the winter.

In other news, did a little autopsy on my SJP assembly, and it appears to have been working fine after all. It was the 3-way check valve that was shot. Of course I pulled the top off the SJP trying to separate it from the Y hose thing, so it went in the trash anyway. No sense in keeping it around. I also noticed the end cap is MUCH beefier on the revision D SJP. It looks to be MUCH sturdier and appears to thread into the body of the SJP rather than being a push fit cap. Pics:

The valve itself failed. It failed the blow test, it was leaking air back through. I did notice a faint hissing coming from that area still, so I'm thinking I still have some clamps and check valves to replace down there. I need a better pair of pliers though if I'm going to be talking some of the smaller hose clamps though. Mine are really cheap and don't "grab" well enough to pull the smaller OEM clamps off easily...

What I discovered helps a lot is to assemble as much of the parts that you can outside of the car and then you only have to wrestle with tightening a few clamps in the car. Sounds obvious I guess, but worth mentioning. I took most everything connected to the SJP, 2-3 components out from it, and it made is MUCH easier. Then I just matched the angles everything was sitting so it would connect right up, installed, and done.

The SJP is the stupidest shit ever. How they thought that the original design would be even remotely reliable is beyond me. The rev D one looks VERY solid in comparison to my B part.

Also I noticed some of the hose clamps were loose enough to spin on the hoses with fairly minimal effort. Those damns OE clamps are freaking useless...

Same technique works good for the mess of clamps and vacuum-lines under the intake manifold too.

Well, I changed my oil and my spark plugs this weekend. I thought a fouled MAF was causing my rough idle, so I was gonna clean it... but to my surprise, when changing the spark plugs, I discovered that the middle two plug wells were covered in oil. There's my idling problem! Ordered a VCG, some new Bosch Aero wipers, and a fuel filter. Turns out, when you order a few things together at ECS, the shipping isn't so bad ($16). Then again, the stuff I ordered is relatively small... Looks like I have more work next weekend!

I tried to tell people that when installing the 034 breather kit. Some people just wanted to go at it with the IM still installed. So much easier with the IM removed. It's not as big a deal as people make it out to be. Easy stuff. They should try removing the IM on the Mazda 2.5L V6 in the Ford Probe GT... not so easy.

Valve cover gaskets, chain tensioner gaskets & half moon. Also an oil change. Followed by a multitude of beers.
