I will be finishing up from last weekend:

Re-using the hockey puck (for want of an actual part name) from the original strut mounts:

Charles: Did the hissing come and go at first??
No its always been there. When the volume is up you can't hear it but when the music stops its there, barely. The harness I got was somewhat defective, though I fixed it so it wouldn't surprise me at all if theres a shitty ground or a wire in the wrong place. I get two antenna codes in VCDS so I'm thinking theres a mixup somewhere in the wiring...

Mine will intensify over the music once in a while. Have not investigated at all, other than pressing my antenna booster with the headliner and a peice of foam underneath to "fix" reception. Thought your situation was mine to come...

My radio reception is pretty terrible now, it was perfect before I swapped the Symph 2+ in. I know the B6 has the wrong antenna, but I didn't think it would be so bad. I get NPR just fine though, and thats the only radio I listen to anyway, so its not a huge loss. I just want to get rid of the hissing, it happens no matter what input the HU is on. CDs, Radio, etc. In fact the second I turn it on it hisses, even before the display lights up. probably a bad ground...

I don't blame you, its very irritating. Well good luck, I know I stopped investigating when I saw the price for the booster. I don't have 2+ though either. Thanks for humoring me!

No problem. I wish the wiring stuff made more sense to me, mechnical stuff is easy for my brain to digest, wiring diagrams might as well be chinese characters to me...
In other news my 27 feet of various diameter silicon vac hose is out for delivery today!!! heres hoping my order from GAP really does arrive Saturday. Is Fedex home delivery in the AM or PM, anyone know?

Oh and as for me, I might snap some shots of the car, if time permits. She's been sitting in the garage all week, waxed and tire shined, while I racked up miles on my commuter.

Not much going on here, just dropped the R32 off at the stealer to figure out what's causing a knock in my front driver's side suspension and where the oil is leaking from my engine. Hopefully it's not a cracked oil pan.
Oh, and I bought another B6.

I managed to snap these photo's really quick after I put the new registration tags on my boat.
And I still managed to jet over to this spot to snap a pic of California's brutal winters...
My buddy captured an awesome pano while we were here. I'll dig it up.

U called???
I shall deliver.
HOT HAWT pics from bedding in the brakes.
Smoke and all... too bad smoke didnt show too clearly but I had em smoking hot last night and this afternoon to GREAT effect.
Braking started out as greasy but is now sooooo dialed in, capable of modulation (modulable???), and effective its silly.

I LOVED the feel and modulation of my infiniti's brakes. They were seriously incredible. The B6 is absolutely anemic in comparison.
Good news, replacing my JSP and the 3-way check valve fixed the hissing noise from the area. Something was definitely leaking around there. Might try to pull a few boost logs and see if any of my lost psi came back! My DV is still honking and whistling like a banshee though, I'll have to try to get that sorted out this week... My 710N is just taunting me, but the damn B7 ate up so much time yesterday...

well this weekend my steering rack died (there was a hole in the boot) .
I dont really feel like changing my steering pump, but is it nescessary? or do you think he will hold out and still pump fluid for years to come?
cars at 247000km and I've found a new pump but they guy who wants to sell me the pump says it came off a car with 200,000km so its doesnt make much sense unless its actually broken.
I know I have to change the rack I already have that on order.
So your rack is leaking fluid from the ends? Or just the boot was torn?
If it is just leaking from the rack, there isn't any reason to replace the pump.

^^^7speed I really like what u've done with that wagon and u've done it quick too.
As for my weekend I spent all available energies on my lady's brakes.
The rest of the time we washed both cars.
So all my A4 got was a wash with an old-fashioned hand paste wax.

Sorry to hear about your kid. All the best to his speedy recovery.
Might be a "kiddle" conspiracy with the gods of pistons and valves...

Glad ur finding and fixing the leakssss.
I think the DV is real easy with if u can drive up on ramps and deal with it from underneath.
Its a 15min job like that with screw-clamps. Add more time for one-time-use clamp removal.

Good to hear Waldo. I'm glad we're on the same maintenance schedule, at the rate I'm going, I'll probably never actually replace the thermostat in my b7. I've had the part sitting on the shelf for months...
In other news, did a little autopsy on my SJP assembly, and it appears to have been working fine after all. It was the 3-way check valve that was shot. Of course I pulled the top off the SJP trying to separate it from the Y hose thing, so it went in the trash anyway. No sense in keeping it around. I also noticed the end cap is MUCH beefier on the revision D SJP. It looks to be MUCH sturdier and appears to thread into the body of the SJP rather than being a push fit cap. Pics:
