Its an A7. Its not exactly gonna handle like an Evo anyway. But I do think bags are a waste of time. Come to think of it, I have never been able to get my head around the lowrider culture either.
2008 A3 S-Line. Revo reflashed. sold for being a crappy fwd car in the snow..

there are just as many garbage coilover setups as there are air setups.
air setups have been tuned to perform - some may even say better than coilovers.
static on floorpan, or bagged on floorpan are equally useless performance-wise.
I was more comparing the top of the lines for each. Not the crap :)
Show me a bagged car outperforming a coiled car on the track (where each is on the high side of quality) and I'll shut up lol (that's kind of rhetorical though as I'm not expecting anyone to come back with a full analysis and times of two similar vehicles on the same track and so forth).

I'd like to see a lap around Mosport with the A7 at the top of this thread ...

dracolnyte pointed out it's an A5 Sportback, not an A7.
On a completely unrelated note, I saw an X1 today and it looks like a run of the mill japanese car...where is BMW going?
Over the last few years I've lost my admiration for BMW's. I don't know why really but somehow I think it's due to the people they're attracting (present AZ'ers excepted). They seem to be yuppy schmucks that can't drive and are all about the fashion statement of owning the car. Just the other night on my way home during that snow storm some asshat in an Alpina B7 cut me off causing me to lock up so they could get to the Burrito Boyz.
Recently I did some extensive research into air suspension systems and I can say that there isn't any performance compromise between higher end air systems and good coil-overs. The struts that are incorporated into the systems have fully adjustable dampening, stainless steel bodies and billet aluminum brackets while the management systems are digitally controlled. The main reasons I didn't go with the system are 1) Cost....The best systems (after install) are ~twice the cost of high end CO setups 2) Compressor noise...could be a PITA depending on how often you purge 3) Complexity.... I didn't want to deal with possible leaks etc. 4) Space/Weight .....it steels some space from your hatch and the compressor/tank is extra weight. After speaking with several CO to Air converts they ALL commented that there was zero performance penalty....some actually preferred the performance aspects of the air systems.
Am i missing something?... why does the suspension performance of this car even matter?..
This car whether stock or not would be the last thing i would want to bring to the track, so who cares if its static or not and the performance of ether or.
I don't think this car is too low to be drivable, but I think dodging everything bigger then a pebble would get old quick. i would raise it 1 inch or so.. but that's me.

On the street or on the track? I would love to have a chat with someone who races on the track with an air suspension setup. Would be quite informative.

I never specifically asked about track because it wasn't important to me. My questions to the owners were more geared toward performance street. There are companies (HPS comes to mind) that have track setups. Talk with someone at airassisted.ca (they're in Toronto) about the different options. They were very knowledgeable about the available options.
