Looking for a new Video Game. Idea's?

So I beat Dead Island a bit back and have moved onto Zelda. I only buy multiplayer games, and zelda has always been my one exception. Anyways, I am almost done with Zelda and am looking to move onto something else.

I am not interested in Skyrim (at this time in my life), but I was looking at 'The Lord of the Rings: War in the North'. It looks like I could play story mode with my buddy online and even a friend sitting next to me.

Anyone played it or anyone have any new games that are fun?

For about 10$ a month, you can now have one game out at a time through Blockbuster. It's a much better deal than game fly. Although, I think it excludes new releases. That's how I decide wether a game is a keeper or not.

if you like challenging games with thoughtful gameplay (rather than button mashing or stat collecting), I have one suggestion for you: DARK SOULS.

it's a bizarre game, but once you figure it out it's a lot of fun. unlike most games, you are not guaranteed to beat it if you play it long enough, there is no hand holding. you will die, a lot. it's kind of like ghosts and goblins (if you are old enough to remember it) in that it is extremely hard, story takes a backseat, and it's a big long dungeon crawl. there is multiplayer, but it is somewhat unconventional in that you have only limited control over who you play with. it is also an extremely long game your first time through.

it's probably one of my favorite games of all time and unlike anything out there at the moment. it is much less weirdly asian than it's predecessor Demons Souls, which I consider a massive improvement.

I got through the assassin's creed's, not huge on FF, and soul caliber could be good. I didnt know they came out with another one. However those games are all pretty single player and I am looking for a somewhat multiplayer, or fully multi game.

I recently put Down skyrim and COD3.. And picked up BF3 which I now like a lot more because I actually have to use my mind.

Yakuza is a good series, still enjoy Farcry 2 :-)

I'll have to check out Dark Souls. It sounds interesting.

I already have SC2, COD MW3, BF3, Madden 11 (not 12 but I am not going to pay for the update). And I called around and got LOTR: War In The North used last night. I was playing it, not a great game, but it is okay so I'll see it through I suppose.

I want to try skyrim, but I dont have time to get in a game that involved right now. I need something I can put down at any minute.

Ive been playin this shit when I can and it is by far the most badass game Ive played in a long time. Starting out kinda sucks but once you get the swing of things and level up a bit it turns out to be great.

its definitely a way different approach that takes getting used to. its almost a pattern game if you really examine it closely. i can't wait for the next one!

i think it didn't get quite so much attention because it is so weird and clearly a foreign game.

if you like stupid pointless only-there-for-one-purpose=and-its-to-be-ridiculous-and-entertaining, you should give a go at saints row 3, it's basically GTA, except GTA over the years has tried to (relatively speaking of course) get more realistic, where as saints row went ahead and did a u turn to follow in the exact opposite direction.


the game is centered around a sandbox type atmosphere, where you complete missions (similar to GTA) but the missions are just so out of control stupid you would think that the developers took like a 1 month tour of LSD and came up with ideas. Example? how about when you have to dethrone another gang's stranglehold over a BDSM brothel, where you go in undercover as a sex slave, and end up shooting and marring everyone in the brothel.....oh yes....you are ass naked the whole time, and drunk, and one of your weapons may or may not be a gigantic purple dildo that you can beat people with. ....oh yea....thats like....level 3....and trust me, it only gets more fun/weird as the game goes on. like i said, they went in the exact opposite direction of GTA but same exact style of play.


the game is ridiculous, not very challenging, but will certainly take up some of your time and at the very least put a big smile on your face.

Did you ever play Dante's Inferno? Weird shit going on in that game too. It's definitely worth a rental. God of War style hack and slash, but some crazy shit happens. One boss is a 100 foot tall naked bitch, and babies with their own intestines wrapped around them as a diaper, and swords for arms crawl out of her nipples and fight you. Theres other normal height naked bitches that have a huge tentacle that comes out their vagina and grabs you, then you have to swing them around by it and throw them. Huge dicks in the background. It's fun just to play for the "what-the-fuck" factor.

I bought that for $20 at gamestop as a present for christmas for my lady. It's exactly like God of War. Fun to play, fun to watch!

Picked up Driver San Francisco last night, pretty fun game and only 25 bucks used. There is around 120 cars in the game and they are all licensed. So all of the traffic in the game is real licensed cars so that is pretty cool. There is a bunch of Audis too. Theres the RS6 Avant, TTRS, Q5 and even the B8 A4 although I havent found one yet.

Not so much racing just open world fun. (although there are racing missions) If I had to compare it to anything I guess I would compare it to the Test Drive Unlimited series with some True Crime series thrown in although thats not doing it any justice lol. It dosent have the depth of Skyrim or anything but theres some cheap thrills to be had if your into cars, which we all are. I would reccomend at least renting it.

Driver 2 was the shit on PS 1. That game was incredible. Anything like that, ed?

It's like get away driver kinda shit, you have to get these drugs from point a to point b in x amount of time, but the whole time there will be bad guys chasing you, and the environment is random, so you will never have the same run twice, but you will have to do things over and over to get it right. I wanted to check out the new one, just haven't yet.
