Meh, I don't see what people like about station wagons.
B7 S4 Avant - just got it!!
993 Carrera 4S - my mistress with wide hips
Previous: 964 RS America / 964 Carrera 4 / 944 Turbo / MkIV Golf R32 / C5 allroad / B6 A4 USP Avant
We all know it won't come to North America - just like the B5 RS4, the B7 RS4 Avant, and the current B8 S4 Avant. It's just sad.
Bah, just let me dream :)
well, I'm willing to give up a stick for an RS4, but not for an allroad or base Avant.
If the B8 RS4 is officially confirmed to be denied to us, I'll probably replace the Avant with a B8 S4 at the end of the year..

Audi has taken away the A6 Avant, A4 Avant and the A3 sportback, all due to low sales numbers. I can't imagine them bringing over the RS4, unfortunately. At least the A4 Allroad is coming. I saw them in Europe and I could definitely drive one of those.
Autoblog said it wasn't coming to the US. I hope we at least the get the sedan. I think it would be a huge miss for them to not to. At least the RS5 is coming.

No sedan, anywhere, for any market.

I'm sure we won't get one. Even if we do, S-tronic or whatever you want to call it, is a poor substitution for a proper 6MT IMO. I also feel that the widebody on the RS5 and now RS4 doesn't seem to have the same aggressiveness as the B5 & B7. The arches just don't bulge like they should
Updated with leaked (and pretty damn official looking) photos.

Now, I love my B8 S4, a whole lot, but I for one would trade my current B8 S4 for one of these in a heartbeat. Ultimate sleeper, carries way more than my sedan, 450hp, yes please! What are the other options in the market for a super wagon? Merc E series AMG and Caddy CTS-V wagon are it I believe. Volvo took away the V70R, BMW doesn't make an M wagon, no Lexus or Infiniti.
Would anyone here sign a petition to Audi to bring this over? (I'm serious)

I'm sure everybody in this thread would, including me. It's a shame that Audi is phasing out proper manual transmissions though. To me it just detracts from the final product.
I've already started setting my pennies aside, "just in case." I would sign a petition.
My understanding is, while Audi was seriously considering the TT-RS for the US, regardless, the fan support did wonders. It certainly wouldn't hurt for the RS4.

I must live in the only European neighborhood in my country or something. I see more Avants than Sedans where I live.

This is partially true of most of the PNW. Quite a few avants around here, but that is not the case most places. And they're still nowhere near as common as I actually saw in Europe.

That's what I'm saying! Another petition needs to get started.
I'm saving my pennies for a new Audi this year anyway....I'd rather it be for an RS4, even if it doesn't have a 6MT.

It is also true of much of New England, there are wagons everywhere; seems like the south and the fly-overs are making it difficult for the rest of us...
I would sign a petition in a heartbeat, though I honestly don't see a 100,000 car purchase in my future. Heck, I'd be happy with an s-tronic gearbox for the upcoming all road rather than the speh-schull for 'Murica slush-o-magic.
They def won't bring it over, all we get is that rubbish allroad. While everyone is getting into the wagon game, audi is getting out. Guess that's the cost of world domination and we, the enthusiasts, are the big losers! Atleast we can take solace that we won't have to deal with carbon build up while we eeek the life out of our proper avants!

There are no reports at all indicating the RS5's motor has the B7 RS4's massive carbon buildup issues. It looks like the engine has been signficantly reworked, so it is possible that buildup has mitigated to the levels of Audi's other FSI motors.
as far as I know though, the 4.0TFSI also has supplemental port injection, which is the only true solution to fixing the buildup issue.

I hope you are right sir but as even some B8 a4s are starting to have carbon issues as people put more miles on them and knowing how Audi refuses to recognize the very existence of the problem to begin with makes me question if they have adequately addressed the problem or will continue to bury their heads in the sand. But like you said the supplemental port injection should solve the issues so here's to hoping that the issue is fixed and we get to drive an avant with that engine in it!!
I just couldn't give up the 6MT.
I know the DC is faster, better, lighter and washes my dog for me, but I just don't care.
I'm afraid that my current B6 S4 might be the last new Audi I own...
