Hey everybody, I used to post on here back in 06 and 07, even 08. 01nogaroblues4/nogarobluenano. You older members should remember me from having the 01.5 B5 S4 Nogaro Tip with black mirrors and black wheels, I lived in MD and PA and also started that auditalk.net forum, I'm over on VW Vortex too. Well long story short, I had a Dodge Magnum R/T from 08 until this last Sunday. I traded it in on a MKV R32, long story short tensioner went and engine is now fried. (read about it here if you like: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...-5000-New-Here ) So several thousand later I feel lucky I purchased it at carmax, they are going to either get me another R32, another car or give me my money back.
Today I went and test drove a Nogaro Tip today, except for the alignment with a pull to the right, flawless inside and out. Wear is minimal on the whole thing. Black/Blue Sport Package too. One Owner with all manuals and most records I believe, clean car fax and auto check too. I really want to own the R though, I definitely enjoyed driving it. Kind of torn now that I made the mistake of checking out the s4 in person lol.
So I'm at a crossroads at past and present and don't know what to do. Anyone care to shed some light on my situation? Go with the B5 S4, or move on from my old obsession into a newer different car?
So with that said, I decided on the Audi, I've decided to make a build thread of it, so this is where it begins, the TOC;

A lot of Tip hate lol. I would go 6MT but due to the wife and back/hip problems I think I need to stick with the Tip. As far as the color, to be honest, I haven't found another car that I would consider buying other than this due to the various conditions they've all been in, this just so happens to be the same color as the original car.
Not haten on the tip, i just know most people enjoy the feel of a 6MT and later regret getting a tip. If your missing a left leg or right arm i can understand not getting one one..
2000 Sport Package Nogaro blue S4 AWE STG 3 with a bunch of other stuff
oh and is 1997gtx still around, or who is a good person to contact now about possibly getting my previously hacked account (by my ex) unlocked/reinstated?
it may be too late, but as a tip owner, get a 6mt! looking to sell mine and move up to a 6mt myself if you're interested. love my car the way it is, and would love to do a swap, but for an extra 2k (assuming i get near my asking price) i can get a stg 3 instead. best of luck in any event

if you want the same engine diff car have you considered the a6 2.7? its just .5 secs slower that the s4. nothing a chip cant solve.
I've considered the s-line a6 before but I'd much rather have the s4.
Don- Where about's?
Currently in my ecs cart:
2 710N
Timing Belt Kit Ultimate Plus
Lamin-x Yellow Fog Film
Trunk Lip
Silicone TBB
Anything else anyone can think of?
Obviously down the road I'm:
Chipping
Piggies
Exhaust
Various Styling
Wheels
Ect.
and if the turbos ever go I'm going with a VAST Setup, not trying to break the bank or the gas tank :
Franken Turbos
P&P Manifold
Tip Chip+Torque Converter Upgrade
Picked the car up this afternoon in York, PA. Pics will follow once the weather clears up around here in the next day or two. All I can say is that I'm stoked.
I'll be holding off on the Timing, 710Ns and TBB for the time being, I purchased a 1 year extended warranty that covers all of that and more with a $0 deductible. For now I'm picking up Lamin-x Yellow Fog Film, Trunk Lip and a set of Bosch Icon Wiper Blades.
Picked up a new battery tonight. Gonna drop it in tomorrow morning. I'm waiting on my order to come in from ECS, that lip spoiler is on back order til April 6th . I'll post pics once I get the wipers and fogs taken care of. Stick tight. Gonna be buying a few more things in the next week or so.
Well I'm currently on the fence about what to do as far as wheels go. Either a set of TSW or a set of Bremmer Kraft. The Bremmers will take me back to the look of my old S. I knew the car needed new tires when I bought it so I've had intentions of replacing the wheels now rather than down the road because of the tire situation. I picked up an AWE Boost Gauge and new rear badging. Hopefully when the weather clears up I'll get it washed and take some REAL pics. Rain and snow pretty much everyday for the last week now. For now I'll leave you with a picture of the old S4 and the 2 wheels I'm looking at getting, feel free to leave your wheel opinions.
Just received my trunk lip spoiler from ECS, and gloss black rear audi rings from parts4euro.com, wishing I would have gone with matte now . Anyway, I was expecting the lip spoiler to be back ordered until April 6th, I haven't decided to install it in April. Thinking that it will be easier to work with when it's warmer outside. I'm gonna replace the rings and install that boost gauge this Saturday, maybe even going to wash the car.
I've decided to hold off on wheels for now but I am ordering a set of Nitto NT555 in the next day or two. 235/45/17 for a fatter look on my stock wheels.
Saturday installed the trunk rings and boost gauge, I also cleaned out my garage, so now the car can stay out of the elements.
Ordered the T-Belt and Valve Cover Gasket Kits. New K&N Air Filter, Denso Iridium Spark Plugs and a Cabin Filter. Ordering New Tires as I type, 235/45/17.
And as promised, some pictures, didn't have time to wash the car, excuse the mess, even though it really doesn't look like one.
Next Weekend's Plans:
4 Wheel Alignment and Tire Install (If they show up in time)
Darintake Mod
Next Order Coming Up:
710Ns
Samco TBB
ARD Bi-Pipe Kit
(AKA properly prepping for a tune.)
Nice Nogaro and excellent progress! I too just did all the maintenance you're undergoing shortly. Timing belt/WP job is not too bad even for a first timer --helps to have an extra hand.
Make sure you get those cam chain tensioner gaskets/half moon seals and cam caps done while you have those VCs off or you're gonna kick yourself later for not doing them!
Here's a few shots:
and Don't forget these!

Thanks 00SantorinS4, progress is progress, want this car in good shape before and money is thrown into it mod wise.
It was finished up late last night. Thought I had the cam caps but didn't lol They'll be taken care of the next time the cars goes under anesthesia haha
Car sounds and feels better now and the burning smell has gone away.
I actually found out just a few hours before the job was done that the timing belt job was actually done to this car right around 68k but that was over 5 years ago. Right now I'm sitting at 94,500.
Probably gonna go up to Cars & Coffee this Saturday here in Maple Lawn so I might take some pics, the trunk lip is on there now and my side markers are blacked out too. I'm really liking the black accents that I'm giving the car.
Here's my next order:
Gas-charged Hood Lift Support
710n's
Samco TBB
Various LED Bulbs
Grill
Things coming up:
Intake mod
Brakes (at least pads)
New Torque Converter
Thanks for everyone who checks out this thread, a little bland now but at least you get to see how much I love this car with all the proper maintenance!
hey man! car looks immaculate. Love the preperation work (thats how it should be done!) I see you travel through PA every now and then. Are you ever near Pittsburgh? I'de love to check it out! I swear, Nogaro s4's do not exist in PA

Thanks man, I usually only make it out to the Somerset/Johnstown Area since I still own a house there. But if I'm ever headed that way and you wanted to check it out I'd be willing to meet up around Greensburg.
