Question Wheel BACKSPACE question for all of you "staggered wheel" owners

    Hi,

I am preparing to add some new wheels this summer and have some questions pertaining to the rear wheel backspace allowance on our cars. My stock 19x8.5 wheels, with a 32ET, have a 6 inch backspace (the measurement from the hub to the inner rim of the wheel.

I plan to install 19x11 wheels (325/30-19 tires = 26.7" diameter) in the rear and I want them tucked under the car as far as they will go without rubbing on the suspension. I will use spacers to push them outside if necessary. My fronts will be 19x9 with an approximate 25 to 30 ET (275/35-19 = 26.5" diameter) so I have no worries there.

My questions is, "does anybody know what the rear maximum backspace wheel allowance is for an A5/S5???" I can figure out the ET once I know what the maximum backspace is possible.

    Many thanks in advance...
    Billy

    You can reverse engineer this...
    Rear
Currently have 275/30/20 20X9 ET29 w/20mm DRA spacer no finger gap (Rubs like a b$tch)
Previously had 275/30/20 20X9 ET33 w/20mm DRA spacer no finger gap (rubbed only slightly)

The caveat: My rear alignment specs are unknown, or i didnt get the read out since i have raised and lowered my cars a few times after originally having 19s. You can run my exact specs if you want to add rear camber to prevent rubbing.. probably at least -1~-1.5

I've decided to downsize a bit and go with the following...

    19x9 wearing 265/30-19
    19x10.5 wearing 305/30-19

    thanks again!
