Recaro Racing Baby for the back
Are you starting with that?
You might want to look into one of the detachable base baby carriers. Pulling here in and out of the straps all the time in the beginning is going to be a big PITA.

Congrats Dave! You are just starting to embark on a really strange, enjoyable, trying, long, terrifying, expensive, rewarding, challenging, exciting, awe inspiring, ( did I mention expensive?) journey that is over in a blink of the eye. Fortunately I get to relive it all through the eyes of my children as they embark on their own journey.
Enjoy every minute because they go by at an ever increasing speed.
Still have all my hoses and check valves and proud of it!

Yea...I was thinking that be the case...any other suggestions?
If it isnt clear, this is my first...and kinda nerve racking...yet exciting hah.
I need to shop around more and see what else is out there...all the baby tech these days is....mind boggling, everything is optimus prime....it transforms into, a, b, c, d and e!! all in a few " easy" steps that make you rage haha.
@ Old Guy - Thanks so much! I'm definitely excited, a little nervous, a bit shaky...but Im so more than thrilled to meet my daughter. I play with her all the time even still in her mom haha. tickling her toes and stuff It's awesome.
Cant wait to see if she has her mothers eyes :D
oooooh man is it exciting....and I have noticed....expensive >_<
part of why Im doing all the maintenance work on the B6...increase my longevity and get it ready for the little one.
Im just scared one day she'll kick the lock button in the back of the car and lock me out haha...good thing I keep my emergency key in my wallet hah

Definitely a huge congrats!!! Mine turns 5 months tomorrow. You will never know how massively life-changing it is to be a father until you experience it for yourself. Nothing will ever be the same. Seriously. People told me that. I believed them, but I didn't KNOW. Now I know. lol
I brought my Audi home just 1 week before my daughter was born. It's what we came home in. The trunk was absolutely stuffed. I felt like we were moving. lol
I looked ridiculous out in that parking garage trying to stuff all these ballons into the trunk only to have them all fly out just as I go to shut the trunk. So, of course, I'm trying to hold 7 balloons with one hand and trying to shut the trunk with the other. Not to mention, I was so tired i could barely keep my eyes open. Hospital couchs are quite possibly the least comfortable thing on the planet to sleep on.

yep- i had the B6 before then she says "oh BTW youre going to be a daddy" so i says, im going to need a set of wrenches , me thinks
you should have been saying you need an AVANT (and some wrenches)
Congrats OP. There's nothing comparable to the joy of being a father. My soon to be 9 year old daughter loves cars already. We're already looking for that perfect candidate to start building for her first car. She loves going to shows and can spot posers miles away...makes me proud....
Wanted: Hood for B6, no rust or dents, any color/paint condition So many Audis, so little time....
An infant car seat is what's used first and at the hospital my son was born in they wouldn't let us take him home in anything else. All that means is you have a fixed base in the car and the "seat" is detachable, it's common for that to mate to a stroller too.

We started out with one of those car seats that can grow and change with your child. it was rated from 5-100lbs. I bought it thinking "sweet, its the only one ill need". We went to leave the hospital and I put my daughter in it and it swallowed her up. The removable base travel system was so much better in the beginning. snap her in , snap her out, quick and easy. No straps to mess with and shes somewhat protected where ever you haul her. They also double as a rocker.

and dave - the terrified feeling of "oh.. am i going to break my kid?" or some kind of "hot water burn baby , HOT WATER BURN BABY"- rainman event never goes away , you just incoperate it into your daily life as a safeguard.

My favorite way to carry my daughter around is in the Baby Bjorn. Those things are awesome. She just goes around smiling at everybody.
...and I don't have to rip my arm off trying to carry 30lbs of car seat and baby.
The only problem with the Baby Bjorn is that it's no good when you're by yourself. You could be walking around with a baby who's face is covered in spit-up and not even know it. Gotta have someone else there to make sure your little bundle of sunshine don't make you look like an idiot. lol

wish i could have been deployed, ive been in the navy 5 years now. most of it spent here in beaufort with a bunch of meat sacks they call marines. ive known real marines and there are only a few here. but atleast i got to be a training aid for the spec ops guys when i first came in. and i def agree with it bein nerve racking for it bein ur first kid. i have a step son but i met him when he was 3 so i dont realy know wats gonna happen with a newborn. but knowing wat uve been through u will b fine. from wat ive been told its alot easier when ur home for it. but it does get difficult to bite your tongue sometimes when they start acting like they have lost thier little minds lol.
Congrats man. It's quit the journey. Have to say i am glad i had a little girl first before my son. Softens you up a bit. Say goodbye to saying NO!..lol And what ever you do when the time comes. Dont look down there!..LOL

We're planning on the one and no more...but you're absolutely right in softening you up. She says that my daughter has made me into a giant pussy..a soft, mushy, sappy pussy.... >_<
That is until the thought of her growing up hits and then its super defensive hah
But yea...my mom had already told me that as soon as she's born that little girl is gonna have her daddy wrapped around her little finger :P
its going to be one hell of a ride...Im still super excited...and the nervousness is starting to go away.
