In the end I'll get all of them I'm just trying to figure out what to next since I can't afford all of it now and don't want to wait to get it all at the same time.
Do the injectors and 2+ tune now, just tell them you have a gutted cat. Then save up for an exhuast/downpipe and a FMIC in that order. Don't do a "CAI" until you are using a large frame turbo, the stock box is more than sufficient and better yet, idiot-proof.

What is the reason not to get a CAI?

It will in all likelihood make it slower. Maybe if you cut a hole into the fenderwell, but it will then be in a low pressure area and it may actually still lose power. The stock intake manifold is very well designed and works well even with big turbo setups.

Right now, I have just have a cone filter, which seemed like it helps spool faster, but most likely after short while and driving hard I get heat soak. I been meaning to put the stock intake back on the last few days, but I love hearing the sound of the DV. So would a drop in filter make the DV audible? And would APR's Carbonio CAI and AFE's pro dry stage 2 CAI be a waste of money?

Did your MPG drop a lot after the larger injectors and re-flash?
