USB OBDII Cable not being recognized

I bought this cable from Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/OBD2-Diagnosti...8051002&sr=8-2

Anyhow, I installed the FTDI drivers (the latest ones from their website) but when I plug the cable in, the computer doesn't even recognize it. I opened the cable up and everything appears to be soldered correctly and nothing obvious is screwed up. Any ideas? I've tried on two different PCs.

Try the VCP drivers on FTDI's site as well, make sure you reboot. You may need to configure the .inf files to see the cable.

Check halfway through the first post at http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=1599195 that starts with "But wait, this doesn't work with the cable, how can I customize the drivers myself?!".

It wasn't even being recognized in Device Manager, it wasn't a driver problem. Thanks for the help, though!! I got it fixed. The cable just sucks and had to have a bit of upward pressure on it to make good contact with the PC.

Wrap the cord with tin foil, solder it.

Temporary win. Chronic loss, no computer.
