^ the only engine for the A4 in NA with 211hp stock is the 2.0t...

TUning wise, I would suggest looking into the main companies like APR, REVO, GIAC, and Unitronics. A tune + test pipe + full exhaust could get you pretty close to your goal.

Welcome aboard. I remember the early days of owning 'The Mistress' and wondering how to add to what was already an excellent automobile.

    The Short answer is: search.

The Long answer is, you can increase Horsepower & Torque through two means.
    1) Software Upgrades
    2) Hardware Upgrades

    - Software Upgrades are easy. It's an upgrade applied to your ECU that will allow the engine management to work more efficiently and productive in creating boost/horsepower/torque.

Software available: APR, GIAC, REVO and STaSIS. There are positives and negatives to each of these companies and you really should dig through threads after searching to make up your own mind on what you want out of your money invested.

    - Hardware Upgrades are an extra level of difficulty/expense. If you're handy with a wrench, you can get away with installing some yourself. Some advanced installs *will* require a pro to install.

Hardware available: Air Intakes, Turbos, Intercooler, Hi Flow Catalytic Converter, Hi Flow Exhaust.

If your budget is 2-3K I would suggest waiting until when APR has their 'Spring into Power' sale when they put their software and hardware on sale. You'll get all four programs from APR for $600+ Install (usually $100-ish).

    $700 - APR ECU Software
    $400 - APR Intake
$300 - Hi Flow Cat from EuroCode
    $1300 - Hi Flow Exhaust
    _______
$Just shy of 3K after install fees at a local reputable Independent tuner

Now, I'm not trying to push you towards all APR products, but the numbers are easy and the ones I remember. Eurocode also offer a great exhaust for a decent price.

Again, I'd say dig around the threads and do lots of searches that will help you get a clear idea of what each mod costs and their respective benefit.

For your edification, it's the I4 2.0TFSI Turbo. Unless you are Trollin' - in that case take a hike!

i say save your money until you can go APR K04 that way you dont have to pay twice for the ECU
    so the math goes like:
    K04 = $2,999
    High Flow Cat= $300
    + install around $1,000?

    should get you about 313hp
then you can get the minor stuff like intake, catback exhaust and intercooler later
