Took the Mk3 to get emissions done and I got the red light because my car is too low. Lulz. So before I put the coils all the way up (I dont even think they go high enough to clear the rollers) Some people told me to go to the Arvada one so they can do a parked tailpipe tests. Can anyone confirm this?

Marshall station did my s4, even though it's not nearly as low as your mk3. The tailpipe test I have no clue about, sorry.

You can try the one in Broomfield. They were mostly concerned about the aftermarket aspect of the exhaust and I'm pretty sure they wanted to check it out under the hood. I got on the rollers after an inspection and they were actually a lot cooler once I had it looked at by the head guy there.

So I measured the lowest point of the car and its 4 3/4" from the ground jacked up all the way up. Thats with 185/60R14 tires and still they wont do it. I cant get them to do a parked tail pipe test because I guess I need a sheet from the state saying they can do so. WTF. Last time I did emissions they didnt even bother to do this none sense "soda can" test. I am so frustrated right now.

I was turned down last time because I was too low, and I know there are plenty out there that are lower. I removed my front bumper and went back. They tested it with no problems.

I had to raise my car back up and put my stock 17" tires back on..... got tested, passed..... spent a friday night crancking my coils back down and swapping my wheels back = Pain in the ass

    - these new fucking emissions are the reason I am not fully catless right now, I don't feel like swapping my DP's 2x in one week next time my emissions come up

I don't have a stock set of DP's like you :( or yes, I would probably be fully catless because I want a LOUDER exhaust! my non resonated dual 2.5 isn't loud enough

    - I also don't have mad downpipe swapping skills like you, Even though we did pretty much 3 sets in one day haha

    Check engine light - FAIL

I hate emission shops. They denied me twice on my "old school" for the gas cap test and because half of my dash was missing.

and they said my wheels and tires are not match size on the door
[Stock: Tires 235/45/17 and wheels 17x7.5]
but I have winter tires 225/45/17 on audi TT 2009 wheels 17x8.5 so they said No!!

so I went back home just took Belly pan off only and I went to Stapleton station Peoria/30th
They was so busy 55mins for wait time and they didn't check anything

    after run

    and my car pass

Old car I'm sure. My golf is a 95. The front lip of my car was dragging like that too. I really didnt care since its my winter lip but man what a relieve that was when they finally tested it. I think it all comes down to who is doing the test. Some of the workers can be such dicks/bitches. Your tires are not even that skinny.

took the mk2 in for three trips to the ken caryl envirotest place today....first
with the car as it sits....pic for reference...

I was told right away it was too low to test....so I said I would take off the front lip
or even the whole front bumper....went back to work, removed the bumper and returned to get tested. Got the car on the rollers and the forks that slide around the tires while on the rollers, made contact with the fender flares!

So they refuse to test, even though the fork just bent under the plastic fender flares....

So they suggest that I need to raise the car 2-3 inches....I go back to work, get it on the lift, and as I'm about to start spinning up the coils (a pain in the arse job to say the least) and I decide to just remove the fender flares...

Take it back for the third time and almost get shot down again...but I think I lucked out with a good tech, because he was concerned but tested it anyway with some contact on the frame while on the rollers.....anyways...passed wit flying colors, and glad I don't have to deal with all that for another year!

Any of you guys tried to cheat your way through the on ramp emissions? I heard you might be able to pass if you shut the engine off and coast through those. I think it only counts in the 6 months before you are due, though.

There are a whole host of requirements for the drive by including but not limited to a range of acceleration, maximum wind speed, space from other cars, date, etc.
