Luxury Auto Body in Etobicoke www.luxuryautobody.ca. Ask for Rich. He is an enthusiast himself. Rich is a standup guy and extremely fair with his prices. He repaired, and repainted the rear bumper on my M5 for $400 all in. If theres no body work that needs to be done, i would say $500-650 would be a fair price to pay to have the lowers repainted. Its mainly labour hrs to remove and re-install the lowers. There will always be cheaper, but you get what you pay for. Best to go see him for a quote.

Thanks gents for the replies, much appreciated.

I'm probably going to take the car to Chipmaster seeing how its only in Markham and comes with the LT warranty.

I'll let you know how it turns out, and the pricing details when I get them.

    Have a good one.

Any comments on paint matching nowadays? I heard that shops are only allowed to used water based paints, which makes colour matching a PIA.

Can anyone recommend a place in the GoldenHorseshoe for paint? I just had some rear bumper skirts painted and mounted at CarStar in Burlington and I'm not all that happy with the paint match. The installer mentioned that there was only one code for my car (no variants) but it clearly doesn't match very well. He also sees the difference but doesn't really have a solution because there are no alternate "recipes" and is essentially washing his hands of the matter. The car is 3 years old so I'm wondering if the colour has just naturally changed enough to notice a difference but I'm skeptical of this since it's ALWAYS kept in a garage and washed/polished/waxed very regularly.

Regardless, I wouldn't mind going to another shop to get another opinion.

BTW, my car is Brilliant Red (LY3J)

Shops use water based paints nowadays which makes color matching a PITA as mentioned above. Although Carstar pulled your code, they should of a. Warned you that its not going to match by simply pulling the code, and b. they should of tested different variants of the color by sampling the paint on cards before spraying your bumper skirts. Go to Rich at Luxury Auto Body, he will explain the process. He was able to match the silver on the bumper stops of my aston martin when someone rear ended me at a light.
