Hey does anyone know what happened to APR's R8 on Saturday? They looked strong for a while and then completely disappeared around sundown (along with the Oryx R8)... The unofficial results say they placed 30th in the GT class (44th overall) right in front of the other R8, but they were MIA for a while there...
Messed up clutch, and the power steering pump caused problems twice. They also went off into a wall in the final 30min, but they only had the car for roughly a month, and it was the first race for the this version of the r8. Sorry, i forgot the name of the version used. They were out of the race from like 1am-7am
Ahh, OK. I didn't see the end on Sunday, but I was there on Sat. and they were MIA around 5/6pm and I didn't see them again... Car looked/sounded good while they were running though - Hopefully they can get things sorted out
Cant believe dude put it into the wall at the end. I understand they payed to play so you cant just park it, but when you are that far back, there is no point in driving that hard. Just have fun, make some laps, and ffs, drive it onto the trailer.
Id have told him to push it onto the trailer by himself
Umadbro? Its a race and they wanted to stay ahead of the other r8, so they drove there race car like they are supposed to. If it wasn't for the problems with the car i bet they would have been in the top 20 easy.

I might be doing it wrong, lol, didnt pay too much attention to the oryx car.
With p+ ~100 laps in front of them and p- at least 15 back when he parked it, should have been a sunday drive to the checkered.
I missed the collision w/ the DP car... When was that?
Around sundown or maybe a bit after. It was the DP car's fault. Like Turbwhistle said, it was around the time that they had clutch problems. They had to replace the whole rear suspension (there were a few pics of them re-aligning the car with the new suspension).

Yeah, my dad and I were sitting at the last set of bleachers on the infield around that time, and we were both like: "Uhh, what happened to the R8's?"
Thanks for the replies, guys. We really didn't get any laps without traffic otherwise I think we would have qualified near the top, but at least it made a good video.
Hopefully I will have a few good videos to post after this weekend at Barber. If so, I'll make sure to post them here as well as FB.
I'm still a little confused at michael66899's comment. Maybe he meant a different team and mistakenly said Oryx, because I don't know a Michael and nobody's cameras except for mine are ever in the car. Odd.
Well, take care guys. If you are in Barber, stop in the garage and say hi.
