Don't know if there is a thread like this yet, tried to search a little beforehand. I have a thing for clean garages and all garages for that matter. Let's see what/where your working out of. Or just post up something sick. Wouldn't mind something like this ......anything with a lift and a loft would be A-OK in my book.

All I've got is a 20x22 two car — with a short ceiling, so no loft.

    But it's got a lift.

I made it all myself, including installing the lift.

Amazing! I could only wish for a garage like that. Heck, any garage will do really, living in NYC we don't have the luxury of garages - we live in apartment buildings, pay $250+ a month for a monthly spot, and if not, spend countless hours in search of a parking spot. Thanks for the motivation lol!

BTW, where's the fridge stocked with brews?

Very cool vintage garage. I enjoyed reading parts of the build thread. Especially the part where you almost total your race car maneuvering the 760 pound cabinet.

    Thanks.

Yeah, the 'I'm watching this enormous and heavy cabinet fall on my Porsche' moment was, well, memorable. In the up-on-the-lift picture, you can see the headlight and headlight ring I had to replace after the cabinet smashed them. The spare ring I had was chrome, so my quickie paint job on that piece has not held up very well to track blasting. But all things considered, I got off easy. The fiberglass pieces absorbed the impact better than metal would have.

The shop looks kind of showcase-y in the pictures, but it's a working garage. Its real virtue is how quickly it can be cleaned back up. Everything's got a spot in one of the cabinets, and the (.59/sf) tile is more durable than just about any floor covering I've seen. Oil, brake fluid, even dried-on Rustoleum overspray all come off easily. The only thing I've got to watch out for is burns from welding slag.

For the other stuff that usually clutters up a family's two-car garage, I built a shed. The trick when you live in the city is to make use of every inch of space you've got.

I love that garage there Jack, I have seen the pictures pop up on a few different sites. Also a big fan of the shed setup, that gets me thinking of things I coudl do to remove some stuff from my garage. Seems half of my issue is fighting with off season storage of the typical lawn equipment and snow equipment.

    Thanks.

And speaking of retro, I just added a drill press from 1973, a vise from 1973 and another vise from 1985.
    .

They're all cleaned up and painted, now. When they came in, they didn't look so good.

Unfortunately the S4 unless getting worked on spends most of its time outside.
