I need some tedious but important work done on my S4. I simply don't have time between things or exactly the know-how or tools to do these thigns and I can't afford any more mishaps with this car for right now. List:
1) New gaskets- valve covers, cam chain tensioners, half moon, etc.
2) CEL diagnosed- smoke test/boost leak test for EVAP leak. I took it to a garage around here for that and they charged me $40 just for clearing the codes and driving my car, not testing anything.
3) anti-rattle brake clip fixed. Mostly just a 1"while I'm at it" sort of thing.
4) Someone who drives stick and knows their Audi's to test drive my car and see if they can find any other problems.
I'm willing to drive. Preferably no more than a couple hours. I'm willing to work something out if you are willing to drive up here. Otherwise, does anyone know a reputable garage they have experience with? I can't afford anymore mistakes on this car. This is my second time for gaskets Edge Motorsports/Edge Motors (can't remember what they're called) I know is a great place, but they're about 4 hours away from me. I'm in PA, about 30 mins. from Elmira and 45 mins. from Binghamton, about 1.5 hours from Williamsport, and an hour from Scranton.
If anyone is willing to help, please PM me. If anyone knows a garage, please let me know. I'm hoping to get this stuff done for a Stage 1 tune. I appreciate any help guys/gals. TIA

The things you listed aren't really too involved. you can probably just do them yourself. But if you really want to take it somewhere I recommend rt. 100 euros. Awesome guys and they know what they are doing. There's always some nasty cars there too
edit: Since your in northern pa you might be closer to Eurotech. Can't go wrong with them

Do you know their number? If I type in Bechelsville I keep getting "directories." Only one I can really find it in Wilkes-Barre. Eurotech I mean, not rt. 100 euro

You're about 3 hours from me and Jesse (CELison). If you're going to be further south in PA anytime soon [towards Philadelphia], give either him or myself a shout and we might be able to give you a hand. Plenty of reputable shops around here as well. Like he said, a lot of the things that you listed shouldn't take much to take care of. Yeah, it's defintitely tedious work, but hey, you've got to do what you've got to do in order to get your car up and running well again. Good luck.
EDIT: Sorry for just throwing your name around, Jesse. Just trying to help a fellow S4 guy out.
I find it ironic that the colors red, white, and blue represent freedom until they are flashing behind you.
Thanks guys. I'll call and see what prices are for the work, and if they're a bit high I may have to hit you guys up. I actually have family in the Philly area.
EDIT: Edge Motorsports, Eurotech, and Rt. 100 Euros are all actually about 3.5 hours away, give or take about 10 minutes.
Does anyone know of anything closer?

Well if you've got family in PA anyway, I'd look at AWE or ASP. They're both on the expensive side, especially for parts and labor, but you've got to pay if you want to play. Honestly, paying a shop for any of those things that you listed is going to cost a lot more than it needs to...

I would really look into doing the work yourself. You will save a lot of money and become more familiar with your car. If you start with doing more minor things like this you will be much more comfortable working on your car in the future. Like when your new tune blows your turbos up and you have to pull the motor

I don't think I can do the CCT by myself. From what I've seen, you have to remove the camshaft (I think?) bolts, lift the camshaft up, then remove the CCT. That's the only way I've seen it be done. I don't have enough hands for that. Plus, I don't exactly trust myself with this job. I've done a little bit of work to my car, but nothing quite this involved. I've taken my A4 apart enough to get familiar with Audi engines. I just don't want to have any "maybes" or "uh-oh" moments with these projects, particularly the gaskets job.
Also, I'm strongly considering not getting a tune for that reason, turbos blowing. I don't have the money to just replace the turbos on a whim, especially with needing this stuff done. Plus, I could put that $500 towards any other mishaps that may happen. Not that I hit positive boost in my car everyday, hardly a couple times a month. But with a tune, it'd be almost irresistable. Tuning is a dilemma for me. /rant
Anyway CLIFFS:
No solo work this time, garage/help, maybe closer?

You don't have to remove the camshafts. There is a cam chain tensioner tool that holds the tensioner compressed, you then undo the end cam cap to install the new seal. It's not a very hard job, more like a lot of little jobs. There is a potential for error though since you're messing with the cam chains.
I'm in Boston so I can's really help out. I'll be in Mohnton in a few weeks, but thats still a hike for you.

Contacted Pocono Autowerks. They said it would be about $600 labor for the gaskets, but also that it wasn't a weekend job?? I can't make it there any other time since they're 2.5 hours away. Anyone know anything closer? Or someone closer?

I'm going to Edge Motors and getting all gaskets done, a full timing kit, new spark plugs, and maybe an upgraded snub mount. From what I've heard/read it will be a very worthwhile trip with good outcomes.
