Just thought I'd share a little bit of my Tremblant experience with you. It was bitterly cold when we arrived on Friday night but the days warmed up just enough to make the time spent on the mountain enjoyable. My friend got himself a GoPro so I was the guinea pig. Enjoy the little vids of me making my way down.
Wish I could snowboard like that! Tremblanc looks awesome too!
Thanks! Still need to work a little bit on riding switch, I get a little sketchy when I get going pretty fast.

I know what you mean, I got out once last year, and Tremblant will be my second time out this season. It seams that these days I have to plan bigger trips like this far enough in advance to make sure I get some time on the hills. Otherwise I'd never go. There's always "something to do", like catch up on work, small projects and chores to do around the house. Basically the kind of stuff that makes you say "I've got stuff to do this weekend guys, maybe next time". Boo to that!
man those runs look so smooth. Riding Bluemountain tends to be icy moguls by noon on the days i've gone this year. and the runs are a quarter of the length :( Ontario: home of absurd car insurance and shitty snowboarding.
Nice ! It seems Tremblant has been the place to ski in the east. Conditions on Sunday were very good but Monday's weather changed things fast. Gotta love the T66 pass
We got lucky with the conditions. Tons of powder! That was the 3rd consecutive day of riding and my legs were burning! Riding 1 day in Ontario didn't quite condition me for the big mountains lol.

I want to ride so bad, I got a major concussion snowboarding and won't be able to get back out for a while. luckily I went enough at the start of the year to pay my pass off :)
Yeah I had a wisdom tooth taken out so any type of shock like running would aggravate it. I think it's getting better a month later (had a complication after the surgery) but probably need to wait another month before i attempt to hit the hill....
the main concern i have with mine is that because the root of the tooth was well developed, it's close to the sinus. and a few days later i took a deep breath and well, the thin membrane that separated my sinus and my mouth gave way. need to make sure that small pit in the back of my mouth is more or less filled in, don't need have further issues with the sinus!!
I've been stuck indoors for a month and I have no signs of getting better. I'll just continue to watch snowboard videos lol
Around 7 years ago I flipped my mountain bike and landed on my head and suffered a concussion. The CAT scan showed no brain damage (thank you bike helmet) but the doctor said it would still take a year before the brain heals and completely recovers from that kind of a hit. And any trauma received during that time would be very dangerous and could result in permanent brain injury. So for your sake I'd advise you to take the rest of the season off and avoid any activity that could lead to any further head trauma. It's one year to ask of yourself to sacrifice for the benefit of the rest of your life. So yeah, videos FTW!
Never seen such a big group of plates. First board I ever rented was a plate board in the early-mid 90's. It was fun, but have never tried one since. I love slashing hard carves at mach speeds... they suit my style.

Going fast and putting the board on it's side is what I love to do also. I've always wanted to try a carving board. They just bite into the hill when you lay the edge to it. Just awesome.

Speeds not for me, but the idea of carving on a snowboard got me to switch from skiing to snow boarding, albeit it took 2-3 years trying to learn on my own, and that's maybe 3-4 painful visits per year to either Blue or Moonstone.
Now if only my left knee could withstand the punishment I give it when doing quick fast turns....
Well, in Ontario it has been an AWFUL season AGAIN, 3rd year in a row? Glad Tremblant worked out for you, but it has been raining all day here (in mid January?) so I doubt it is much better there...
Nice vids, wasn't it all university kids this weekend? Couple of my buddies went...On a separate note, you need to work on your switch stance, you look off balance

Yeah that one arm is up in the air like I'm conducting a symphony Normally my arms are pulled in.

This was my fourth concussion. The third within the last year. I hope to ride near the end of the end of the season but I'll try and stay out of the park.

Wow! Hey man take care of yourself, health/safety first. And I mean that sincerely.

There are a few annual get togethers. There will be a group of us at Stratton Feb 26 to Mar 2nd for East Coast Expresison Session (ECES). Expecting 60 to 80 carvers for the week. Summint Expression Session (SES) starts next week in Aspen. Its actually 2 weeks with the World Expression Session eithere the week before or after, I can't remember which.
7 of us are heading to ECES for the week. Carving mountains is so much more fun than our local mole hills.

It's called a hookarm
@Helmets, if you need to wear one in the park, I'd say you already shouldn't be in there...I boarded professionally for 2 years and never wore one. Now, hills on the french side won't even let me enter the park without one Helmets throw me off balance and are uncomfortable, I learned how to break a fall years ago and rely on that instead of a piece of plastic to save me.
Anyway, I don't do any crazy tabletops or the pipe anymore because I'm 21 now and that's just too old for that kind of stuff I take pride in something I normally laughed at other people for, just going down the hill normally and "turning" lol...

sounds like you've bumped your head a few times already. That's some seriously stupid reasoning, even for a 21 year old.

Unless you've done it professionally yourself, you opinion does not matter at all so I have no clue why you would even bother to comment on the subject...

Where helmets are concerned, I used to think the same way but now I won't hit the hills without one. It took me one run to get used to the weight and feel of the helmet, and now I don't even notice that I'm wearing one anymore. No matter how good you are, you can't control everything and accidents will happen, some small and some large. Take Sarah Burke for example, God forbid something like that happens to anyone here. What I know is that when I was 21 I had a lot of opinions that I don't agree with now - at my ripe ole age of 39. And if I were standing in front of my 21 year old self I'd give myself a lecture or two about life. Aaaaanyway...that's me, everyone's different. But I promise you BoSNiaN, in about 20 years you'll see life through a completely different set of eyes.

Don't need 20 years, I look back 3 years ago at my 21 year old self and ponder wtf I was thinking. Body contact, impact, falls are nothing my body can't handle... and now? A couple of wipes and I'm done for the day.
