Sold the Avant, but still in the VAG family

My B7 A4 Avant was definitely the best car I have ever owned. It was my first avant and I bought it as a CPO from the dealer. I had it for almost 3 years and my CPO warranty was almost up. I fell in love with my brother in laws Jetta Sportswagen (Golf Wagon everywhere but US), and after driving one I made the decision to start the hunt. I did toy with the idea of trying to find a CPO B8 avant, but I just had my first child and my priorities have changed a bit. I just picked up the VW tonight and it was definitely hard to get rid of the old avant. My new car is no Audi interior and does lack the exceptional fit and finish that Audi is known for. The technology on the VW is amazing with the touchscreen head unit and cool little gadgets that are standard on these cars. It's no Quattro but it drives great and feels good for being FWD. The mileage is what I know I'm going to love. I've always wanted a diesel and I really wish that Audi brought us more TDI options. There are some things I know I'm going to miss, but all in all I'm happy with the switch. I"m definitely still going to be trolling the forums since I love Avants and AZ. My JSW won't be stock for long, but here are a few pics of the two cars tonight.

Man I gotta tell you, B7 Avants are so sexy! Despite it being last gen, it still looks better than the vw and just as relevant. Congrats on the pickup, I totally get what you mean about priority changes as recently I welcomed my first child as well. Its actually what got me into my first Avant.

Thanks, I totally agree with you. It's amazing how my B7, sharing some parts from a B6 that is almost a ten year old car still stays relevant today. People still thought my B7 was brand new. I'm gonna miss her, but yeah my priorities have certainly changed.

I understand the gas mileage but what is the difference with you having a kid now and the b7 not being good enough? If it is overall up keep insurance or whatever okay just not understanding a downtrade. Oh, and I'm not trying to sound like a dick either. Congrats either way atleast your still in an esate.
