Hey guys, I might have an opportunity to relocate from WA to AZ for a couple years, its a possibility and I'm exploring all of the options here. Can anyone in AZ (east valley) with a B5 S4 give it to me straight? How bad is it?

I grew up in AZ but I haven't lived there for 15 years, definitely never drove there. I'm concerned about the B5 S4 in the summer heat.. I mean, its brilliant black so I'll be paying anyways, but engine/cooling wise I want to know what to expect.

I have an AC delete that I'd probably need to reverse hahahaha. TIA!

Umm.. you need a/c even in the winter. You and your car will be fine. You WILL adapt. Sheesh... kinda silly if you ask me.

Josh (ThePaintballGuy) is a Washington transplant in a b5 s4, he'd be perfect to ask. Water Meth is a solid investment if you're worried about turbo lag in the summer. It's definitely noticeable, but IMO living here is worth a few slow (and hot) months between June-September...

I moved here from Bellingham in August and have a 2.7t allroad. I wasn't here in june or july but in the august heat you definitely notice the lag but I never had any engine temp problems.

I have a Stage 2 S4 in Chandler and the heat definitely plays a factor in performance. I few years back the guy I bought it from helped me with a really easy electronic mod that was a "loop hole" around IAT's. I found that it helped considerably. I'm not sure if hes still on this forum but maybe could chime in if he is.

Switch your a/c back on for the summer months for sure or you will die... Winter is not necessary, I rock the windows down every chance I get. I am going to be running water/meth this summer for the heat alone. I bought my car in winter and by mid summer I noticed how much the heat really does lower power. I am sure my engine will thank me for the cooler IAT's too.

Oh, and dark tint. I have limo all the way around and 35% on the windshield. My car stays relatively cooler with the sun roof tilted open as well. Phantom Black here - Beige interior.
