    My Trunk Closes Like Crap

Does anyone else trunk sound really cheap when it closes? When I let go of mine it always slams down and sounds really cheap, it stays up fine, so I know the struts are not worn. I can set it halfway and it stays up for example, its only when I go to close it and let it go that it does this.

For example my wife has a 2005 Murano, the trunk on that closes so much smoother it only highlights how crappy my trunk closes/latches. Especially when the doors on the Audi close smoothly. Anyone else have this problem? could it be that the rubber blocks at the side are just old and hard?

    Thanks.

Mine closes like crap as well, would love to know what I could do to make it "softer". I try to let it down lightly every time...wife insists on slamming it along with the other doors.

Semi-not related: Anyone have trouble locking their hatch using the key fob? Anyone know what would be wrong if it doesn't lock along with the other doors?

I only have issues when its super cold. Sometimes it doesnt closes just bounces around. takes a few times to close/lock.

Mine closes fine every time, it just slams down regardless of what I do. I think it only started to bug me when I closed the trunk on the Murano and it latched softly.

Only thing I can think of is it might be the weather stripping. If its old and worn it may not absorb the impact of the trunk as well as it used to.

Besides that I don't think there's much of a fix for this.

I will have a look at the weather stripping, that could be it. My car has 111k on it, and while I don't use the trunk that often, maybe the stripping has just gotten old.
