Looking to buy a B5 S4

Long story short - I am selling my '99 911, and the guy that test drove it today has an 01 B5 S4 with several upgrades. I used to want an S4 several years ago, went another direction. He convinced me to go after one again. He referred me here.

Question - do I get a stock one and mod it myself? Or do I get one that has good solid mods on it already? Getting one that has mods already would be more cost beneficial in the long run (rather than buying the same mods and placing them on a stock car) , but I don't want to risk reliability on a car that just has a ton of mods on it. Thoughts?

They are amazing cars inside an out. The mod possibilities are endless. Although, get ready to pay. If your gonna get one, make sure it comes with paperwork. Stock is preferred so you can mod it yourself to your liking and you know no one tinkered with it. If you go for moded make sure you get papers on all that's been done and when. A lot of things on the car are gonna be DIY so refer to the B5 S4 threads (Search before you post !) it's a love hate relationship and the car will wear the pants along with its best friends the CEL. good luck

1) the people who want a stock car to know it hasnt been tampered with
2) the people who want a modded car so they dont need to work on the car them self and spend lots of money on mods

I bought my car bone stock and modded it myself. This way you are able to get the exact mods you want and pick which companies to buy from. But, I probably ended up spending a whole lot more money than if I had bought an already built car.
