My wife had her annual girls weekend up at Stowe this past weekend. As the forecast called for some snow showers and possible accumulation I thought it was best to send her off in the S4 with brand spanking new Dunlop M3's (215/50/17's) instead of the "new" to us '08 Outback XT 5MT with A/S's with about 30% of their tread remaining. I get a call around 2030 and she says that they are stopping for the night....I was like "what?" but it turns out that once again the weather man had gotten the forecast wrong and it was snowing like crazy with pretty heavy accumulations. Before I could say another word she said that they had passed dozens of cars that had either slid off the road or could not make it up hills and that the S4 seemed pretty much unstoppable and the only reason why they were stopping is because she feared for her life because of the other drivers....she is actually the best female driver I have ever run across. The next morning I got a call around 0700 and they were back on the road with a fresh 12"+ of snow on the ground heading up to Stowe....Boy was I jealous not only because the skiing was going to be epic but it has been quite a number of years since I have had the chance to drive on brand spanking new snows in fresh deep snow.

Bring the snow to the North East please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers,
    Jim

Bring it on....we are ready. We have had the Wee Man (4.5 Years old) hitting the local slopes for the past two weekends and I wonder how long it will be before he is skiing faster then me.

She is A OK, when we were looking for a replacement for her old Outback there were two prerequisites, it had to be a manual and it had to have more giddy up...Love that woman.

I have to ask if you are in the marine industry from your signature?

    Cheers,
    Jim

    It's not maritime related.

I did four and half in the Marine Corps as a forward observer (basically the guy who was a pseudo grunt but did do ALL the high speed grunt stuff and was attached to a ground team as a relay for the aerial support). Long story short, I learned that as a Marine, no matter how indestructible an object/equipment claimed to be, we somehow found a way to break it.

When I bought my B5 S, everyone told me how unreliable the 2.7T could be but after four years of owning it and learning what it can do, I found the 2.7 to be one Audi's best and most reliable engine....dare I say almost indestructible, hence "Marine driven, Marine approved." There's more meaning to it but the main is about The Audi platforms.
