My wife had her annual girls weekend up at Stowe this past weekend. As the forecast called for some snow showers and possible accumulation I thought it was best to send her off in the S4 with brand spanking new Dunlop M3's (215/50/17's) instead of the "new" to us '08 Outback XT 5MT with A/S's with about 30% of their tread remaining. I get a call around 2030 and she says that they are stopping for the night....I was like "what?" but it turns out that once again the weather man had gotten the forecast wrong and it was snowing like crazy with pretty heavy accumulations. Before I could say another word she said that they had passed dozens of cars that had either slid off the road or could not make it up hills and that the S4 seemed pretty much unstoppable and the only reason why they were stopping is because she feared for her life because of the other drivers....she is actually the best female driver I have ever run across. The next morning I got a call around 0700 and they were back on the road with a fresh 12"+ of snow on the ground heading up to Stowe....Boy was I jealous not only because the skiing was going to be epic but it has been quite a number of years since I have had the chance to drive on brand spanking new snows in fresh deep snow.
Bring the snow to the North East please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers,
Jim
