    Shady Sirius Practices

I am having second thoughts about purchasing a lifetime subscription for Sirius through the dealership for my 2011 Q7. Here's why. I paid at the dealership for the lifetime service over two months ago. December 25th the service stops. I ask the dealership to look into it. I end up speaking to the Siruis rep and he said he needed my credit card number for the service to work. This doesn't sit well with me. I would never have to pay anything to Sirius again after the lifetime subscription was paid.

Is this legit? I think if they force the issue, I will cancel and demand a full refund from the dealership.

You have to be very careful with Sirius, particularly with the lifetime plan. I bought that plan for my 2009 A6 and called to get it transferred to my new A7 when I traded the A6 in for it. Sirius says the "lifetime" plan is not transferrable to the new car. They will only transfer it if the receiver was replaced in the old car. Also, their other plans (e.g., 3-month, 1-year, etc.) AUTOMATICALLY renew for the same period unless you tell them in advance to stop. Pretty sleazy in my opinion.

My biggest concern is them having my credit card for no other reason then to have it on file.

We need a bullshit flag here.

My issue is them requiring my credit card number even though they will never bill me for service again.

    UPDATE:

So I got my money back and cancelled everything with Sirius.

They said there was no way to do it without a credit card.
