    That sounds pretty serious. Props for wanting to scan for codes on your own, but do you have something against towing it to the dealer to have the car checked out under warranty?

    Well my car was recently involved in an accident therefore my warranty is currently void.

    Accidents void your warranty? That's news to me! My car was involved in 2 accidents while under warranty and it was never voided.

    I'm sure they do, if the title is branded; which is my current situation. I purchased the car off an insurance auction. The car was a run and drive when I purchased it, although when the mechanic was working on the car he disconnected the battery for a couple days to prevent any fault codes. This caused the ECU to forget its memory. I'm assuming I need to reprogram and/or reflash the ECU. I attempted to run some codes but the car wouldn't read the ECU.

    Do you mean to say it was declared a total loss with salvage title?

    It wasn't declared salvage. The title was branded "repaired" because it was not a total loss, however the damage was significant enough to brand the title.
