Mine arrived today! I'm really looking forward to getting them installed.

Quick question on the retaining clips...how to you install them? These aren't like any circlips I've ever seen.

looking at my kit right now. those rings supplied make no sense at all. they look more like a key ring, and do not look like the ones shown in the install pdf at all. did you send the wrong rings? I just tried to fit them to the bushing, and I can't get them to go on.

Ha ha ha! I thought the same thing about them resembling a keyring. And I'm glad I'm not the only person who can't get them on! I'll shoot my contact at TyrolSport an e-mail and see if he responds over the weekend. I was really looking forward to getting these installed, but I'm stumped on these rings. I had my snap ring pliers out and everything!

I think I will just go down to the local hardware store and spec out the right ring. shouldn't have had to do that though.

Our apologies on the confusion here, guys.

We did not update the above link with the new, correct directions. We used to offer both mild and stainless snap rings. Due to the number of people who did not have snap ring pliers, we updated to retaining rings which do not require any tools. The benefit is that we now include stainless rings at no extra charge. I tried to install them by separating them and winding them in just like shown in the video, and still had no luck at all. I am going to get some real snap rings today.

It took me a few tries but I figured it out. For what its worth...I'd have paid a few extra bucks for "real" snap rings.

Couple of suggestions.
Go back to snap ring design.
make them with built in cap such as oem.
At least give old guy a starbucks cars or something for providing positive feedback

Do you have any idea on the timeline for the B5 S4 kit? I have these brakes waiting to be installed, and if it will only be one or 2 more months I will just wait a little bit longer to install.

Finally got a chance to install mine today. It was more work than I thought it would be. (I haven't done the front brakes on one of these cars before) i have the B7 A4 set up on my B6. I can't say i really notice any difference in the braking during a normal test drive i just did. before, the brakes were very good, after, they feel the same. I was hoping for at least a placebo affect.

maybe under harder driving something will show up.

when I was just about done, I noticed one of the snap rings was still in the bag. had to pull all the pins back out and tug on the bushing to make sure I didn't forget to put one of those pesky rings on. turns out I must have been shipped an extra one --it messed with head though. don't want to mess anything up when doing brake work.
