I changed mine too. I was hesitant before because on forums the avatar becomes ones face so to speak. I didn't want to change my mine and have people that don't know me that well think "who's that guy". That might be a good thing for some - LOL - but for better or worse, I didn't want to change it. Anthony's solution addresses that issue.

Thank you guys for the support. It's kinda cool scrolling through random threads and seeing the "A" knowing what it's for and that she's in other folks prayers.

I also want to specifically thank those who have contributed to the chip-in fund. I have not specifically addressed you guys and feel I need to. I know who a couple of you are from the email address but there is 1 or 2 more that I am not sure who it is. I want you guys to know I'm very appreciative.

hey john, i don't know you at all, other than you used to piss off busa and he would bitch about it. staz has a very high opinion of you. i know both of those guys personally.

i work in the medical field with children with all manner of developmental disabilities / syndromes / extreme prematurity, etc. over time, i've become desensitized and see the kids as clinical cases, with little regard as to what happens to the families. it's bound to happen, not knowing their personal struggles and how they cope day to day. i nearly cried at my desk at work when i read your story, and that's not my nature at all. it really touched my heart. i have two kids of my own, just a little younger than kaylah. i love them more than life itself and worry whenever they run a high fever or fall hard, etc. i cannot begin to imagine what it's like for a family and child coping with the present situation.

i know the expenses of raising a child, diapers, food, daycare, sitters, etc can get to be a lot. the little bit i was able to give was better spent than buying my kids another useless toy they don't need or for a few more drinks at the bar. thanks for acknowledging. i keep your daughter and family in my prayers. stay strong, all of you.

Like Doug I just read this thread for the first time. Truly an amazing yet tragic condition. John, your response is an inspiration, much respect and admiration to you and your family for being so strong and supportive to your daughters needs. Being a parent of one little girl myself, it is extremely moving to see how you all have risen up to this extraordinary challenge . One of my sisters discovered she has a significant heath issue right before Christmas, but Kaylah's battle makes our struggle seem much easier. My prayers and thoughts go out to you. I'll be supporting this cause after I finish this post.

Once i wash my car im going to put mine in one of the corners of the rear window. Either there or since i have 2 stickers i might put them on the small windows behind the rear doors. Still debating!

Haha yeah I was thinking of putting one on my rear trunk where the A4 badge used to be, or up on the front driver bottom corner of the windshield.

Ordered all I could. It's saying the keychain and stickers are sold out now, but I got one set for sure. Also got some calenders and chipped in.

After going through hell with my son as a baby, I can somewhat feel your pain man. You're a strong man, and I'm sure you're wife is a great person as well.
