Hey guys long story short, i can get 3 piece forged wheels at cost. I believe there are 7 or 8 designs to choose from and endless finishes etc. I have a friend starting up his own
wheel business. In exchange, you will be required to submit numerous high resolution photos of your car (with the new wheels) for marketing purposes.
Besides the fact that he'll be in Canada, how will these wheels differ from the millions of guys from Miami? It's refreshing to see a wheel business outside Miami, especially in our very own country. I hope he test/certifies his wheels, weight and design only means so much to me if they aren't strong.
Disregard most of the things I've said if he's just starting a retailing business.
No info still ... oh well. I ended up pulling the trigger on a set of BBS RGR instead.
Good choice...I have the same wheels. What size did you get? ET?
If you went with the 8.5/ET32 and you're lowered a 255 in the back will rub unless you do some fender work. With the OEM suspension height you'll be fine depending on the tire you choose....PS2's were fine.
Yeah ... the only photo that has the right detail and includes the offset stamp isn't quite sharp enough for me to read "32" vs "35", even after playing with sharpening.
But you said ET32 will fit as well?

Yes, ET32 will fit with the stock NA S4 and NA A4 Sport/S-Line suspension without rubbing (using a 255) as long as the edge profile of your tire is rounded and not too square.
Rear seat passenger weight is a different matter :)

For those following the thread....i need your advice.
Ive decided on a classic mesh design. Should i get Polished lips/brushed centers/exposed rivets OR Chrome lip, matte black centers/exposed rivets? Im leaning more towards the matte centers as it complements the
side blade and other matte parts on the car but the brushed centers will definitely pop more.
Very good pricing for sure ... Wheels made in Florida so unsure about costs to get them here ...
I would guesstimate ~$140 shipping cost, but $0 in duty as NAFTA should clear them as made in the USA. Figure your normal bend-over for UPS brokerage fees, ~$100.

Suggestions?
I might opt for brushed centers and polished lips. Matt black centers, I agree, would looks more aggressive, but I do find the design of the wheel gets lost in the black.
Yeah, I couldn't quite make it out myself from the photo, but I talked to the seller and indeed they are ET32. Am running stock suspension so hopefully will be OK (the unknown is the shoulder profile of the stock SportContact 3 tire) but won't really know 100% until I actually put them on. Still, it's a lovely and super-light wheel so I'm willing to take the risk and either do a tire swap or some fender work in the worst case ...

Seems there are a couple subtopics to follow on this thread ...
Teflon, I would probably go with black or graphite centres since I'm a fan of contrast (and the darker wheels hide brake dust). I also prefer a cleaner look and would definitely go with hidden rivets. I've decided to hold off on the forged wheel thing for my TT and will likely pull that trigger for my next whip
So is the R8 a DD, have winter tires and driven in the snow ? (Love the car and is on the short list)
