Anyone has any experiences, good/bad/cost/etc, with any bay area shops or dealer? Much appreciate any input.

I used to live in the bay and I always went to an indy audi mechanic. He really knows his stuff... The shops is located on 1444 Mazda Drive, Walnut Creek CA 94597. It is behind the Mazda dealer on north main street. Here is a phone number (925) 938-3606 ask for Frank or Tomas (they are the owners).

Did you ever get around to doing the carbon cleaning? I'm thinking of buying one of these and doing a BG44K flush myself. Probably isn't as effective as getting in there and actually brushing/scraping shit off though. http://www.mechanicstoolsupply.com/M...5_p_19012.html

That stuff was BAKED on. My valve plate flaps had total 3mm of gunk on it. Inside was pretty crazy too.

its like picking out boogers in my cars nose haha

This is just 1/2 of the stuff i picked out in 1 valve

Flushing stuff through the system does nothing, or very little. You really need to just get in there and remove the shit manually. Gasoline works very well as a solvent. If you aren't confident doing it yourself, I would recommend having a shop do it. I have heard 034 does a very good job.

It's never the confidence, but always the time.
