There are a lot of bitchy Euro fanboys, with their panties all twisted, in this thread.

It his car, he can do whatever he wants. I bet it will be 100X as reliable as an RS6. LOL.

Pretty sure all of us "bitchy Euro fanboys" said the exact same thing, or did you not read everything?

This is entirely true, however, you will have bitching no matter what, when it comes to a rare car type. Drop a Chevy 350 into a true AC Bristol Cobra and see if the Ford world wouldn't go bonkers, or take a classic Bentley and drap a wankle in it. It's no different.

Purists will always exist and will always voice out at something like this. It's all part of the game. In the end as stated though, most accept that it's that persons car to do whatever they wish, but wish themselves that they did it with something a bit more common. It's what keeps the auto world moving. Those that do oddball things and those that like or hate it.

I came over to this forum from ls1tech, Love my a6 but the ls series is just pig reliable, super cheap to mod in comparison to these. It sucks that it was a rs6 but there is absolutely no reason to prefer a car to sit and rot over transplanting a engine. A rs6 is still on the road in a tastefull fasion, and if its a huge issue then I imagine it could be bought and converted back.

Well, I love it. As Vin said I was really lucky and came across a wrecked super modded RS6 for $12k last year. 50k miles, custom level10 trans(750hp rated) and a full stage 3 Dahlabck race kit....didn't need it, my RS6 staged 2 was plenty fast, but Dion twisted my arm. Now I have a stupid fast RS6, extra engine, and trans. Ok where am I going with this? A shell RS6, and guys are angry that owner popped a LS1 engine in there? That's awesome! Yep, read sig, I own a staged 2 CTS-V wagon. The LS series of engines can make huge power, and cheaply. I am taking next step to stage 3 the Vagon, for another $3k, $9k all in, she will make 620/635 rwp...there are guys pushing 1k HP, and these engines can handle it. This guy can easily get the engine to huge levels with TT or SC, and alas it's a huge platform, so modding is 1/2 what it cost to tweak our Audis.
