Sorry for lack of updates as my great uncle passed away and I took a few days off to take care of family matters.

I have spent the last week at the plastic plant trying to figure out a way to get this color match completed but it has not happened. As a result I will be extending this presale to February 21, 2012 while I wait for the next batch of color concentrate to be made and delivered.

The pod design is perfect and each pod fits exactly like its twin brother, however, the color mixture (color concentrate when combined with the plastic pellets) when shot through an injection mold does not look as I wanted so the color concentrate has to be made again, and this is the 3rd attempt already.

If anyone chooses not to wait for the colormatched product please let me know and I will send you a waiver to sign and then send out your order with a pre-production unit.

Just do not complain to me when you do not like the color match.

Valentine 1 remote display B8 package has been added

Well after 5 color match attempts and numerous discussions with my engineer, I have decided that the only way to get a perfect color match is to have the B8 pod painted.

That's right, the B8 pod will be painted to match the look and feel of the OEM product, which in case you didn't know, is also painted.

As you can imagine this was not an easy decision for me to make, due to the time and money already spent on formulating the color matched plastic, but in the end it is about making the best end product for the customer and this is the only solution that made sense without driving me insane.

I would deeply appreciate it if you would give me a couple of weeks to get the pods painted and then shipped to my shipping center in order to complete the packages.

To keep everyone in the loop in this whole color matching ordeal, here are the results of the last test of the final plastic only color matched pod vs. the v3.0 painted color match pod.

As you can tell in the pictures below, even the OEM painted column cover does not provide an exact match. I used the same cover to show you the difference when compared to the different lower column pieces.

My goal is not to exactly match the lower column piece, but to match the surrounding trim that is around the pod as that is what you, the driver, sees every time you sit in the car.

I was about to release the unpainted pods and have them shipped off and packages made, but as you will agree that the decision to wait a couple of days to see the painted piece was a good decision.

I am happy with the v3.0 painted color match and have ordered the paint to be made in order to paint color matched pods that have been produced. After that the pods will be painted and on their way to you!

I appreciate your patience and understanding during this tedious process.

We made a decision not to release our latest pod designs after reviewing the launch of the VW Mk6 solution where we made available the pod by itself.

Needless to say others have ruined a good thing for the rest of the car community.
