Problems with Audizine seller "takenotes"

I bought 4 19" VMR RS4 reps (2 scraped up) with tires (including shipping) from "takenotes" (real name is James Charlot). I payed him $800 directly into his bank account. I have reciepts.

I put the money in his account on Oct 20th and haven't seen the wheels. In over 10 weeks, I got nothing but excuses. Says he can't find boxes, busy with work, lost his phone, etc... I was REALLY patient with him. It was coming up on the holidays, etc.

But, enough is enough. I told him last week to either send the wheels or send the money. He finally responded and said he'd give me my money back. But now he says he's "getting the money together" and will send it "soon". Don't know what "soon" means. Who knows at this point. So, now, 11 weeks later, this guy has spent my money, never sent me the product and now I have to wait for him to "get money together" to send me. Terrible.

I have seen other products of his posted for sale in the B6 section of the classifieds. I would advise to stay away.

I will inform/post if I ever get the money back.

I've also had problems with James Charlot.

He had a Revo BT/550cc ECU and SPS3 for sale, but wanted a stock ECU in exchange. I bought a stock ECU from another member here and had it shipped to him. He was supposed to get the stock ECU installed and get the Revo ECU and SPS3 out to me with a day or two of receiving the stock ECU. Three weeks later, he still hadn't shipped, citing the excuse that his mechanic was having trouble pairing the stock ECU with his car. I repeatedly asked him to ship me the ECU+SPS3 overnight. I finally gave him an ultimatum that he either ship me the Revo ECU+SPS3 or return my stock ECU and the $$. Eventually I get an email from him with "I sent it." No carrier or tracking info, nor what he actually sent me. When pressed, he told me he had shipped it via USPS and that I should have it in a few days, but that he didn't get tracking on it. WTF DUDE. I asked for overnight shipping (for which I was willing to pay), and you ship out first class with no tracking or insurance?

A week or two goes by and I still don't have anything, so I filed a paypal dispute and escalated it to a claim. At this point, James realizes that he shipped the ECU+SPS3 to the return address on the stock ECU I sent him (random AZ seller), not mine. I pay to have them overnighted from this other guy, which James agrees to reimburse me for if I cancel the paypal claim. Against better judgment I agreed, and have not heard from him since. It also turns out that the Revo ECU he sold me cannot be used in my car without a reflash from Revo, but they need the VIN/name of the original purchaser, which James has refused to provide (He claims the car had the GTRS and was flashed already when he bought it). So I'm stuck with an unusable ECU.

It's not difficult to ship wheels, just expensive. Just place carboard on the front and back, some clear tape to hold it together, and drop them off to be shipped (I would suggest FedEx for shipping wheels). Shipping companies offer insurance for a reason.

any packaging place will custom make boxes for any size shape weight of product... i do it with everything i ship out and have made a agreement with the owner that i will only use his small town shipping place to do my business if he gives me a good deal and thus far have shipped many things including a transmission to a member in Las Vegas and i live in PA without breaking the bank...

I hope all gets worked out... Did you use paypal? If so did you have him send you a invoice first documenting that he was requesting money for the wheels and did you use that invoice to pay? If so you will be covered by PayPal

CrazyCal this happens everyday....it's known as THEFT. After 11 weeks it's pretty clear what his intentions are, and were for that matter. You can most likely stop viewing him as a seller and start viewing him as a THIEF, and respond accordingly.

There is a link in that thread to an Audizine thread, but it won't let me access. It says the police were involved. Anyone have any more info on this? It could really help me out.

I'm currently trying to get ahold of SurferD to see what the details of the police involvment were.
