Lately my 01 tt with 120k on it has been having random starting problems. at first it would start and not hold an idle and just die. that stopped but now in the mornings when its really cold sometimes it just cranks but wont start. could it be a fuel pump? or moisture in the lines? i dont think its the starter. any ideas? only had the car 4 months.

probably best to get code scanner to diagnose this problem... but ignition system and fuel delivery components would come to mind first.

My 00 TT did something similar and I changed out the crankshaft positioning sensor. There would be times that it would take 3-5 times to get it to start and then other times it woud just start fine. Its not a hard sensor to replace and not to much $$. Hope this helps.
